Stefano Langone From American Idol
MYFOXNY.COM – Stefano Langone’s journey on Amiercan Idol ended last week when he received the fewest number of votes. He’ll be in the Good Day New York studio on Tuesday to chat about his experiences on the TV show.
Twenty-one-year old Stefano Langone from Kent, Wash., impressed judges with not only his voice, which is often compared to Stevie Wonder, but also his story of survival.
TMZ reported that Langone was hit by a drunk driver in 2009 that left him with two broken arms and a fractured pelvis along with other injuries. The website also reported that the contestant has filed a lawsuit.
According to The Seattle Times , the accident, which caused him to have to learn to walk again, gave him a passion and purpose for making something of himself.
USA Today reported that the former student at Bellevue Community College sang with different singing groups before becoming a contestant on American Idol.
The judges complemented the singer and piano player on the consistency of his performances and Randy Jackson complemented Langone, saying, ‘This kid could be on the radio right now.”
Langone, who barely made the Top 13, only after singing for a Wild Card spot, told Entertainment Weekly that he could improve, saying, “I need to not do the really commercial songs anymore, because that’s not me. It comes off as not true to myself.”
And as for the genre of music that he is nervous about? That would definitely be rock.
“I have never sung a rock song in my life. I think I can do it and I will probably have to do it,” Langone told Entertainment Weekly .
