ROCKYEAR：Our first question is, is that the first time you came to China?
The Wombats ：Yeah.
Very exciting, and an amazing experience.
The best concert we have ever played by far.

ROCKYEAR：Why you got the idea to come so far to China?
The Wombats：We have always wanted to play China, as we thought our style of music would go down well. Midischool contacted us through our college LIPA, and we thought what fantastic once in a life opportunity. We read about the MIDI festival in England, and in Norway as well. The main TV channel in Norway had a program about midi festival. It is a big, big thing in Norway.
摇滚年：为什么你们会大老远来中国演出？
袋熊：从我们认为我们的音乐风格会很流行的时候，我们就一直想来中国演出。MIDI学校通过我们的学院（Liverpool Institute For Performing Arts，利物浦表演艺术学院）联系了我们，我们觉得这是一个非常好的机会。我们在英国看到了MIDI音乐节的信息，在挪威也有。挪威主要的电视频带有一个关于MIDI音乐节的节目，在那里，这很重要。
ROCKYEAR：Before this, you know about midi festival?
The Wombats：No, we found out about it through our college LIPA, and I thought it was really cool. When our college told us about it, we definately wanted to be the UK band to play MIdi.

ROCKYEAR：How long has the band been together?
The Wombats：3 years.

ROCKYEAR：Do you go to musical festivals in June and July in Europe?
The Wombats：Yeah, in England. We have been to festivals before, England, Norway, and Denmark.
摇滚年：你们有去六月七月在欧洲的音乐节么？
袋熊：有，在英国的。我们以前也去过其它音乐节，在英国的，挪威的，和丹麦的。
ROCKYEAR：Comparing with this with European ones, what is the difference?
The Wombats：Not big difference. When we first came, we like, oh, my god, it is so big, great stage, really good sound, as same as Europe. The biggest festivals in England are bigger than this, it’s just because of the biggest bands. This is such a good opportunity for up ad coming bands, who wouldn’t normally have the opportunity to play on such a big stage.
摇滚年：同欧洲的音乐节比，有什么区别？
袋熊：没有很大的区别。当我们第一次到这里的时候，哦，天呀，这么大，非常好 的舞台，非常好的音效，和欧洲的一样。在英国最大的音乐节比这大一些，那也是只因为他们有最多的乐队而已。这个音乐节对于一些平时没有机会在大场合表演的乐队，是一个很好的机会。
ROCKYEAR：How about the audience? They are crazy for you.
The Wombats：The best audience we have ever had. You guys rock!

ROCKYEAR：You think you are standard Brit-pop?
The Wombats：Not really. Brit-pop seems to have developed its sound to when it started In the 90s. There are a lot of good British bands.

ROCKYEAR：Usually, you will listen to American music or British music?
The Wombats：British. Both.

ROCKYEAR：You like your local bands, like ‘Radiohead’?
The Wombats：Yeah. We listen to all kinds of music. Canadian, American, British, Norwegian.

ROCKYEAR：What your purposes this year?
The Wombats：Releasing a single in England, the 3rd of July. Check our website www.thewombats.co.uk for further details. We might have a release in Japan as well.
