Fame hasn't gone to James Durbin's head, if his wedding plans are any indication.
"I'm so, so in love. It's going to be a very small wedding. We're only inviting about 85 people," the American Idol alumnus, 22, says of his upcoming nuptials to fiancée Heidi Lowe, set for later this year.
The humble rocker adds: "We're going cheap. We're not doing a full-on Hollywood lavish wedding. We're getting married in the boondock mountains at a community hall. We rented out a tiny tiny little chapel, all exposed red wood. It's nothing super fancy."
The couple's son Hunter, 2, will be the ring bearer. And fellow Idol alums Stefano Langone and Paul McDonald will be his best man and groomsman.
Durbin says the guys are still trying to figure out what to wear, but the rest of the planning is pretty much done. "It's going great," he says. "We got our decorations and everything set. We got the cake squared away, and she's got her dress."
Durbin is mum on the wedding theme, but says, "It's a little bit country, a little bit rock 'n' roll. She's a cowgirl, and I'm a rock star. Some of the decorations will be cowboy boots."
And will he hit the stage himself? "You might find me singing. There are a couple of songs I used to sing to Heidi. 'Faithfully' by Journey and 'One More Try' by George Michael. And she always loves it when I sing 'Take Hold of the Flame' by Queensryche, so we may have to throw that in there as well."
It's going to be quite the busy few months for Durbin, who is also releasing his debut album, Memories of a Beautiful Disaster, on Nov. 21.
