According to the New York Post, a battle of egos has shattered the remarkably productive working relationship between pop star Katy Perry and songwriter Dr. Luke. Just listen to these alarmist quotes from anonymous sources! From Dr. Luke associate No. 1: “He's stopped the hype with her. She got tired of his records, the same familiar sound, but mostly his attitude. Katy's a star now, and she's not going to be told what to do." From Dr. Luke associate No. 2: "He checks all of his artists. He just curses them out. He thinks he owns them because he made them." From an ambivalently defined insider: “A lot of people think that without Dr. Luke, Katy's going to have a big problem. For the record, Dr. Luke’s official rep denies it: “This is ridiculous … He wishes Katy nothing but continued success and looks forward to working with her again soon.” But that could just be part of the cover-up. What will it mean if this is true? Will Katy Perry take Lady Gaga’s advice and strike out alone, pen and pad and keyboard in hand, seeking out her own pop hits with a sound far, far away from Dr. Luke’s formula? Will she just go out and find solace in the arms of whoever is one rung lower on the superstar-producer totem pole? Will Britney Spears start getting the good Dr. Luke songs?

As has been acknowledged in the past,Katy Perry has one of the greatest Twitter feeds on the Internet. It's an incredible combination of high-concept inside jokes, reactions to food and truly amazing just-snapped photos. Late last night, Perry's feed became the center of a hilarious flame-up that began as a prank played by her producer and ended up with weigh-ins from the likes of Perez Hilton and Gabe Saporta.
It began when Perry tweeted, "Is it normal to have the reacurent [sic] rash with blisters on my vagina?" It was an unusual dispatch, but perhaps no more unusual than anything else that she unleashes (after all, she addressed rumors about her pregnancy by tweeting "That's right I'm bleeding" a few weeks ago). But then she followed that up with the message "Um you mean RECURRENT? Idiot. This is war!"
That message was tweeted at producer Dr. Luke, who apparently had hijacked Perry's Twitter account while the two were working together on Perry's next album. After apologizing to her mother, it seemed like things had gone back to normal. But then Dr. Luke hijacked it again and dropped this dispatch: "Oops I crapped my pants! It's messy. What should i do?"
"Stop hacking my Twitter!" she wrote to Dr. Luke. "I leave my computer for one second!"
Meanwhile, some of Perry's most famous followers got in on the action. "Katy Perry's vagina is trending! Amazing!" wrote Perez Hilton on his Twitter. "Let's get Katy Perry's vagina to #1 y'all!" Plenty of people followed suit, including Cobra Starship frontman Gabe Saporta, burlesque performer Dita Von Teese, former Letters to Cleo singer Kay Hanley and Paris Hilton.
