The stunning singer has sent an Xtra special message to the heartthrob, congratulating him on his US success.
Fresh from hitting the number one (and two) spot in the US iTunes album chart with Up All Night, One Direction star Niall Horan has received an Xtra special message from a famous fan – Katy Perry.
The newly-single singer was a guest judge on The X Factor in 2010 when Niall auditioned for the show.
Although she dubbed him “adorable”, Ms Perry thought Niall may have been too young for the competition but put him through to Boot Camp saying “don’t let us down.” Wise choice KP.
Fast forward to 2012 and Niall is now a member of one of the most successful boybands in the world, and his achievement hasn’t gone unnoticed by Katy.
She Tweeted: “
@NiallOfficial congratulations, you didn't let me down! Xo.”
In an adorable message, the 18-year-old Irish star replied: “Hey katy,thank you,let's hope it holds out this week!Thank you for putting me thru!we've been working hard,I won't let you down.”

Niall and the gang have been causing chaos across the pond, as thousands of screaming girls line the streets to catch a glimpse of their idols.
Yesterday, they were met by an army of screaming, largely female, fans as they performed on the US’s Today Show at New York's Rockefeller Plaza.
