今日toefl作文题目：
Life today is easier and more comfortable than it was when your grandparents were children.（现象判断）TPO 6

my essay:
Nowadays, as the rapid development of modern society, people’s standard of lives has improved a lot. Many things that seem incredible are accessible now, such as the cars and plans. So, from this point of view, our lives are become easier and more comfortable.
Firstly, in recent decades, the technology of communication has a lot progress. In the past, the only way to connect with others is to talk face to face. But currently, many advanced tools are available, such as the phones and online chatting room. For example, I heard from my grandma that in her childhood, if she had some academic problems, she might take a 1-hour walk to her classmates’ home and it was still cannot guarantee that her problems will be solved. By contrast, when I have problems, I am able to call one of my friends that may take me only 10 minutes and if we have problems, we can chat in the online chatting room and have a brainstorm together to stimulate inspiration. So, it is the high-technical communication tools make my life easier.
Secondly, as time goes by, more methods are feasible for us to get information. In old days, if my grandparents wanted to do some researches, they must swamp into the library to get extra materials that they needed. However, now, everything is changed. Take myself for example, once I wanted to find some academic journals about wild animals. I just taped “wild animal” on google.com and various information appeared in front of me and I only selected some of them that are instrumental for me. So, I would finish the work in a short time and then enjoy my life at home. So, it seems clear that the plentiful ways to get information shorten the time on doing some things.
Finally, the most important mark for modern society is plan and other high-speed transportation. When my grandpa was at the age as me before 70 years, he never traveled to other cities or countries because no proper transportation can use to travel; even cars and trains are rare at that time. However, as for me, although I am a Chinese, I have been to America and other countries. It is the plane that makes this cross-continental trip becomes possible. Also, the prices are affordable for citizens. When we go abroad, we have capability to know the different culture and enrich us and also take our mind off. As a result, the plane, as the mark of advanced transportation, gives us a better chance to enjoy our lives.
In conclusion, it is an absolute truth that our lives are more relaxing and pleasing.

Playing computer games is a waste of time. Children should not be allowed to play them.

my essay:
Nowadays, with the rapid development of technology, the computer games become more engaging. Some students are fascinated in playing computer games and even con not control themselves. So, from my perspective, the computer games should be forbidden to protect ourselves.
Firstly, beyond all doubts, playing computer games wastes a lot of time. When children begin to play them, the time will pass quickly like the stream. For example, when I was at primary school, I engaged in a computer game named Red Boundary. I played the role of president in this game and I could produce many weapons to fight with others. Whenever I played it, I just felt I was the leader and I had responsibility to get the final win for my military. So I would not stop it until I defeated the opponent. Usually, a war would last 2 to 3 hours. So, it meant that I might play it for a long time. As a result, it seems clear that playing computer games will occupy a lot of our time.
Secondly, playing computer games also brings negative influence to our health. According to a recent survey, conducted by the Chinese Academy of Social Science, after polling hundreds of students, most respondents claimed that the cause of their poor sight is they spent too much time on computer games. Many scholars have confirmed that the radiation from the computer will affect people's sight. It is also a common fact that after we watch the computer for a long time, we will feel that the words on the screen get more obscure. This is just a drop in the ocean. Many experiments have proved that the computer is detrimental for our health.
Finally, computer games deprive our opportunities to connect with others. It is easy for us to swamp into the fantasy world in computer games and we will not care about the real world. Take my cousin for example. When he was 5 years old, he began to play computer games and nobody stopped him. Gradually, he enjoyed the ideal world in computer and lost the curiosity to communicate with real people around. He became more and more melancholy after he grew up. In the end, he must go to the hospital to have special treatment. It is the computer game that led to the tragedy of my cousin.
All in all, we can easily get the result that computer games have a plenty of deficiencies and they must be inhibited to ensure the health of us.
