Bandar Seri Begawan - The Municipal Department, Bandar Seri Begawan will be organising the 'Bandar Run 2012' this Sunday at the Taman Haji Sir Muda Omar Ali Saifuddin in the capital to commemorate the 42nd anniversary of the renaming of Bandar Brunei to Bandar Seri Begawan.
Fitness Zone, one of the leading health clubs in Brunei, has been chosen as the collection point for the T-shirt and running kit anytime between Nov 22 to 24 at the indoor basketball court of its Kiulap branch.
Throughout the three days, free exercise and nutrition tips will also be provided by Fitness Zone's own certified coaches and dietitians.
The organiser said, "We are glad to get Fitness Zone involved as the official health partner because of its commitment and sincerity in promoting a healthy lifestyle in Brunei. Fitness Zone's expertise will help our participants to better prepare for this marathon, and most importantly, to achieve a safe and effective results."
With the aspect of safety in mind, the run will only be, open to a limit of 5,000 participants. So far, the response has been overwhelming.
The categories contested are 21km, 10km and 5km in the men's and women's events, and there will also be a 2.5km fun run. Each participant will get a free larian Bandar' shirt as well as a medal after completing the race.
Fitness Zone as the official health partner for the event is generously contributing membership prizes worth over B$10,000.
