The FFA system takes into account not only rating, but also other factors, such as number of games played, wins, played tournaments, won tournaments and so on. Because of this, it is much harder to manipulate it as some of you think. For example the system won't believe that a player with 1 golden star has 300 rating and it will treat him/her as a player with much higher rating.
The 100=2000 rule was removed long time ago. Because the system doesn't know if a player with 100 rating is that bad or simply he/she has tanked his/her rating, players with 100 rating are now treated similarly as players with less than 5 games played - their rating is ignored when calculating the team rating.
