Elyse Sewell (born June 10, 1982) is an American fashion model based in Hong Kong and an author. A native of Albuquerque, New Mexico, Sewell has a Bachelor of Arts in Biology and Spanish. Her start in modeling came when she entered a reality television modeling competition, the first season of UPN’s show America’s Next Top Model. Sewell was known on the show as the “edgy pre-med student”. In 2005, one of her “confessional” clips from the show earned her 16th place on E!’s Most Outrageous TV Moments.
Sewell has worked in various countries and is currently a successful model in Hong Kong. Her weblog was made into a book that, presently, is only available in Hong Kong (or online). Published in January 2006, Beauty and the Biz: The International Adventures of America's Third-to-Next Top Model features hundreds of never-before-seen pictures of Sewell, as well as a collection of her writings.
Modeling
Sewell signed with modeling agencies Wilhelmina West (Los Angeles) and Model Genesis (Hong Kong). Her modeling credits include the cover of the Asian Harper’s Bazaar, HIM, Esquire, 3 Weekly, Chow Sang Sang, Jessica CODE magazine, I.S.O., iMaroon, Staccato Shoes, Azona, Nail Nail, and Sa Sa Cosmetics in Hong Kong, China. Sewell was featured in an editorial spread on Hong Kong's Jessica CODE magazine. Sewell has modeled for Paule Ka on a full page spread featured on Apple Daily Newspaper. She has also modeled for multiple spreads on Mingpao Newspaper promoting a variety of clothing lines. Her runway shows include Hermes and Dupre Santabarbara.
Not only does Sewell work as a high end fashion model, she also acts as a commercial model, and has appeared on various commercials in Hong Kong.
In 2006, Sewell signed with a new agency in Hong Kong, Dream Models.
