In A.D. 449, living in north-western Europe three Germanic tribes began to infringement of Britain. They are the Angles, Saxons, and Jutes. After one and a half centuries, in the 6th century AD, basic conquered the island of Great Britain. This is in the history of British "Germanic conquest." With the development of human society, the angles, saxons, and jutes, gradually formed unified English nation also blended in their use of dialect, there is a new language: Anglo - Saxon this is Old English.

Today, more people speak English as their first, second or foreign language than ever before.But English speakers maybe could’t understand all kinds of English because English had changed more than before. And from about 1150 to 1500 English had changed to became more similar to the language we are speaking now.It called Early Modern English Peroid. In 16 century,one big change in English usage happened. Noah Webster wrote the first American dictionary of the English Language, giving American English an own identity. And then, diffrerent kinds of cultures made this language in diffrerent types, just like Australian and Indian, they made their own identity about English. And during abou 1700 from now——which is called Late Modern English Peroid，English became a globalize language.
