Bie’s Interview with Postcard (part 1)

I have to be true to myself that even though Bie-Sukrit Wisetkaew or Bie the Star made a name for himself from the Star search contest… he is getting more and more popular. He was able to reach a super-stardom as a dancer, an actor… with so many works to show for… and lots and lots of awards from various institutions for confirmation… and I still carry “I couldn’t careless” attitude towards him… I was not into him until I had an opportunity to meet and talk to him in person…
Bie greeted me with a big smile and said “Hello” from far away. After I had a heart to heart conversation with Bie… “I couldn’t careless” attitude disappeared. I am not praising him. Bie knows how to talk… he is a very straight forward person… he is not a faker… he has plenty of jokes to pull… just like what everyone said… when Bie is on stage at a concert, he is one of the professional entertainers in the industry.
This is not a candid camera… this is not a paparazzi… but starting from this line on, fan-clubs and non fan-clubs of Bie the Star don’t go steaming off… Bie is about to open up his private space for us to see and to feel… for one whole day starting Na But Now!

What else do you want to do?

I have done many things… now, I want to fix certain part(s) to make it better.. i.e. my singing, acting and dancing… some projects are new to me… as a result, I have to be well prepared and have to get more training to keep up…

what was your inspiration? what pulled you out of that spot?

”The thing was I really wanted to be a singer. I liked watching MV. I liked to listen to music. I also liked to listen to various radio programs. I did this every day. Back then, cassette tapes were quite expensive. I didn’t have money (to buy them). I would wait for new song released to radio and I would record it. I didn’t know which song would be playing but as soon as the D.J. said “here is the song”, I would press record right away. In addition, I always wanted to move up my family status… for us to live better and easier life. These two things made me inched little by little towards singing… then slowly moving on to dancing… then, to acting.”

Your wish came true… you became a singer… how did you feel that very first second?
“During the Star search contest, the 8th people round… when my name was called… my feelings right at that particular second was exactly like a beauty pageant. I would say “hey… why do you have to cry? are you crazy?”. But when I was in that same situation, I felt like the winner of a beauty pageant. There were tears in my eyes. My knees buckled. I crumbled down to the floor and cried… Wow!… so, it was really happening to me! It was not play acting. People said when someone is about to drown… the moment you think you are going to die… you would see images… you would think of your parents, your relatives, or things that you haven’t have a chance to do… you start to worry about many things and everything.
Right at that moment, I thought about my parents, about being a singer, about work, school, etc…. then I asked myself… Is this really happening? Am I really the last person? did they really call my name? everything was moving so fast… thousand things came to my head at the same time… very hard to explain the feelings”.

Finally, Bie the Star became a singer… you got a degree in Engineering, do you still want to be an Engineer?

I really wanted to be an Engineer. But when I chose to become a singer, I had to let go of being an engineering for the time being. When it’s the right time, I will go back and be an engineer. I still talk to many of my friends (who are engineers)… once all of us get an MBA, we all work and have money, we will get together again to work on a project.
