Noah Shawn hit the headlines in 2009: videos of him dribbling skillfully past numerous opponents as a 7 year old went viral. This left several FC Bayern supporters waiting in anticipation for this wonder boy to grow up and break into the first team.
A very reliable source has unfortunately informed us that Noah Shawn no longer plays for FC Bayern. Hailed by his previous Bayern coaches as a great talent, his last FC Bayern coach, Sebastian Backer, didn’t want Noah Shawn in his team for the 2011/2012 season even before he started training him claiming he was not good enough. After pressure from his previous coach and from Michael Tarnat, the decision taken was that Noah Shawn remained at Bayern for the 2011/2012 season.

Sebastian Backer during training
Unfortunately, Sebastian Backer left Noah Shawn to rot on the bench in the 2011/2012 season, giving him only 3-5 minute runouts. Therefore, at the end of the season, Noah Shawn left for SpVgg Unterhaching and was followed out of the door by none other than Sebastian Backer himself, amidst rumoured complaints about racial discrimination from some parents.
Noah Shawn still plays for SpVgg Unterhaching and FC Bayern is still close to his heart. Who knows, perhaps he will return one day.
