On Saturday, November 9th, SSAT (Secondary School Admission Test) was held in Beijing, Shanghai, Nanjing, Wuhan, Guangzhou, and Chongqing. Ameson, as an authorized SSAT supervisory center in China, administered the November test in which more than 1,000 students participated. This is a 30% increase to the same period of last year. SSAT is an admission test for secondary schools in the US and SSATB’s collaborative schools world wide. The test is designed for three different levels with two in China currently, and each test consists of 3 parts with scores (vocabulary, mathematics and reading comprehension) and a referential one without score (composition). It’s extremely important for foreign students who are not permitted to have long term study in public secondary schools in the US, but private schools which take SSAT score as the most important reference for admission. Han Shouyan, representative from Ameson Foundation’s Shanghai Office introduces that the examinees took SSAT last year was around 7,000 in the country while the participants this year is estimated to record 10,000, with number of Chinese students studying in American secondary school reached 13,000 -- that is a 30% rise comparing last year. As more Chinese families are making advanced plans for their kids’ overseas studies in secondary school level, Ameson, as an organization administers such test, will surely dedicate more tangible support in this regard.
