3.5 Japaneseactivities, lawsuit and hiatus
In July 2009, thelatter three filed for an injunction against their Korean agency SMEntertainment. This led to TVXQ ceasing all public activities and appearancesafter 2009. Through their lawyers, the members stated that the 13-year contractwas excessively long, schedules were held out without the confirmation orpermission of the members, contract terms have been extended and changedwithout their knowledge or consent and that the group's earnings were notfairly distributed to the members.
On December 31,2009, they attend attended the Kōhaku UtaGassenMusic Festival on?New Year's Eve of 2010 and it is the last time fivepeople sang togehter on the stage.
On April 3, 2010,Avexannounced the hiatus of TVXQ's Japanese activities.
