This is a wonderful film with a superb screenplay and direction and great acting from its mainly young cast. I felt myself being drawn into the film in the same way as Mr Wenger's students were being drawn into his 'experiment'. The drama unfolds relatively slowly at first, but with gathering momentum and consequences. There is also a very moving portrayal of some of the tensions produced within some of the romantic pairings as well as the extreme anguish caused in one student by his heightened susceptibility. I think the depth to which personal relationships and social groupings are explored make this into much more of a fascinating drama than an exercise in the condemning of fascism.

    Never read the book I saw this movie today and there is one thing I can say about it: I loved it. It was just a good-old-fashioned adventure/treasure hunt type of movie, and I really got into it. I can see why some wouldn't like this. It deals heavily with religious, historical, and artistic history (three things that I am into), so if someone isn't really into that stuff, I can see why they wouldn't like it. I thought Tom Hanks did a great job, as did the woman, and Ian McKellen again was awesome. I was never a step ahead of this movie, and that's what I liked about it. It was one mystery after another, sprinkled with some action and death.

      食在顺德 厨出凤城
        在珠三角一带,顺德美食的名气最大。以往早有“食在顺德,厨出凤城”之说。
      名菜小吃远近闻名
        顺德厨师的整体素质高,到处都有美食的踪迹。光是鸡就有多种不同的烹任手法,出名的就有桂州南桥的盐局鸡、勒流山庄的白切阉鸡、顺府餐厅的四杯鸡等。顺德近年来还评出了十大金牌名菜,包括大良野鸡拼锅贴牛奶。均安煎鱼饼、顺德鱼腐、金榜牛奶炒龙虾球、菜远炒水蛇片、秘制网鲍、菩提雪衣上素、一品海参等。光听名字,已教人垂涎。
      值得一提的还有顺德的小吃,如大良的双皮奶、南乳花生、南乳崩沙、凤城的金榜牛乳、龙江煎堆、乐从伦教糕等,都远近闻名,为食家津津乐道。

        双皮奶:
          大良“双皮炖牛奶”,是甜品中之上品,甘香嫩滑,别具一格,不少港澳同胞回乡旅游、 探亲都要亲临食店品尝。“双皮奶”的制作方法是:把牛奶放进食具中炖滚后倒进小碗内(小量奶即可 ),待冷却凝固成奶皮, 然后轻手倒出牛奶,让奶皮留在碗底。另将鲜奶加白糖搅匀后用罗斗滤去杂物,把调好奶蛋白的鲜奶倒入, 用小碟子盖好, 以防蒸汽滴落面上影响质量,隔水炖15分钟即成。

          金榜牛乳:
            始于明代 ,原产大良金榜村。为雪白圆状薄片,味略咸而甘甜可口,正气补身,有坠火功效,可佐粥下饭。现除大良镇内的数十家店铺制作经营外,香港、澳门、新加坡、马来西亚等华侨制作商户,亦以“金榜牛乳”标名以广招徕。

            顺德乃粤菜主要发源地,善于博取众长,推陈出新,烹饪河鲜和蒸炒各种菜肴以风味清淡香脆驰誉海内外;早在清代,游宦广东的省外人士即称道“顺德乳蜜之乡,言饮食,广州逊其精美”;及至近世,“食在广州,厨出凤城(大良)”的说法,更获得外界普遍公认,广州、香港、澳门和海外粤人聚居地的酒楼餐馆,多喜聘用顺德厨师,以“凤城名厨”以广招徕。

              顺德菜注重口味,更讲厨艺。
              “食在广东,厨出凤城”。好食的广州人对顺德菜当然不陌生,而且掰开手指头还能一一列出在广州的著名顺德菜馆———什么“渔米之香”“文信老铺”“顺德凤城美食村”等等。而且小记在不经意间才发现,原来在广州的许多星级酒店、老字号大饭店,都有不少顺德大厨在坐镇。据说近两年,往广州、港澳及东南亚一带做厨师的顺德人也日渐增多,顺德菜便日渐驰名于外,而且各地专营顺德菜的饭店,也是长盛不衰、食客满堂,这一点充分显示了顺德人的烹调技术的独到优势。
              顺德人不但追求菜式的美味,而且对于烹调技术也非常讲究,直到现在,许多当地的人还常用河鲜海产精心烹调,在食完后互相品评,以提高整体厨艺。但顺德人对自己的烹调技术也颇感自豪,因此,每年都举办为期一周的“美食节”,诚邀各地的顺德名厨“回家相聚” 一场,顺便也让好食之客一次性尝遍顺德菜之精华。
              今年的顺德美食节上,除了顺德名厨、广东省的十大名厨之外,还有来自香港、澳门的各大名厨表演,其中香港的著名大厨——“鲍鱼王”杨贯一及有“南天鲍鱼皇”之称的香港名厨欧锦和等也上台 “亮一招”,让不少好食之客不但食得美味,而且还可观得尽兴。
              厨艺VS菜料
              粤菜中的名典精粹多选用山珍海味做原料,而顺德菜则相反,往往以当地最常见的淡水活鱼做原料,然后通过厨师精湛的厨艺来烹制各式佳肴。顺德菜看上去煞为好看,入口更是味道十足,令人称绝,故有 “食在广州,味在顺德”的美誉。
              顺德菜以清、鲜、爽、嫩、滑为特色。首先鸟兽虫鱼均可为菜式原料,且即宰即烹,而新鲜的精粗果蔬亦可入馔,佐料则借鉴各大菜系;其次,菜式讲究合时,夏秋菜式以消暑祛热为主,冬春菜式则以营养滋补为主;在制作上,南北菜、中西菜技法并用,讲究运用火候;口味以生、脆、鲜、淡为主,五滋六味俱佳。如野鸡卷、炒牛奶、大良嘣砂、龙江煎堆、金榜牛乳、大良双皮奶、伦教糕、南乳花生、陈村河粉等都是顺德比较有名的小吃。此外,如“鱼茸煎蛋角”、“桂花炒瑶柱”、 “锅贴奶拼野鸡卷”、“鱼腐扒芥胆”、“顺德拆黄鳝羹”、“凤城四杯鸡”等都是顺德的经典名肴,吃过必会悟出些顺德美味之精髓。
