Western Cultural Difference - Comparing appearance

只看楼主收藏回复

I found during my time in China that many people in China really love to compare those they know to others. This is especially true when it comes to the appearance of foreigners. In my time in China I was compared to Backstreet Boys, Mr. Bean, David Beckham, Jake Gyllenhaal and more. While I'm very flattered to be compared to them, except Mr. Bean...., they are not at all accurate.
I would strongly recommend not telling foriengers they look like someone else because the majority of the time they don't. Not all foreigners look the same but many Chinese believe we do in the same way many people in the West think all Chinese look the same. If you are not familiar with a race of people you will think they all look quite similar, but it is in fact just because your brain has not yet learned to differentiate them yet.

This reminds me of a family guy episode when Peter is in china town, and he thinks everyone is Jackie chan. I don't think you look like David beck ham or Donnie darko, no offense.

things go differently when it happen interracially. Not only lookings even some certain bio chemical like oxytocin wont create strong bond between interracial couples. thats super weird.

l have to admit that l like comparing one person to another. And l also compare myself with others in many ways.when compared with them,I often envy them for their good aspects. As you can see,I'm not gentle. I do badly in English and. you can point my mistakes out.
