'Rowling to pen Harry Potter spinoff film'
Harry Potter author J.K.Rowling and Warner Bros. are looking to re-create their old magic with Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them. It is the first installment of planned spinoff trilogy of Harry Potter, and the movie is going to be released on November 18,2016.
Rowling will write the screenwriter. The film will be the first time for her to be a screenwriter. The film will be based on the fictional 42-page Hogwarts textbook of the same name.
The book tells a story of the adventures of Newt Scamander. He is a 'magizoologist' and the book's author. Scamander's adventures will begin in New York 70 years before the events of the first Harry Potter novel, Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone. But the laws and customs of the hidden magical society will be familiar to anyone who has read the Harry Potter books or seen the films.
When the film project was first announced last September, Towling said,'Although it will be set in the worldwide community of witches and wizards where I was so happy for seventeen years, Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them would be neither a prequel nor a sequel to the Harry Potter series, but an extension of the wizard world.'
Although neither the director nor the cast has been revealed, Warner Bros. said that some of the film's characters may be familiar to devoted Harry Potter fans.
