Severus Snape died for nothing!

Dear J.K.,
After reading HPDH, I am sorry to say my feelings range from disappointment to being utterly sad, as I had to discover you did not do any justice to Severus Snape.
Of course it is your story, but didnâ ™t you care for our petition last year? We were not out to change the story, only for a little MORE respect for him.
Ergo, without Severus Harry wouldnâ ™t even be alive right?
At he end of DH you tried to correct the lack of respect by making Harry state Severus was the bravest, but honestly wasnâ ™t it easier to treat his character with the proper respect from the beginning?
Did he deserve to die for nothing? Please do not theorize that is was for the good cause, thatâ ™s just not true. Severus Snape died for the greed of Voldemort, for a wand (..). This is meaning- not to mention POINTless. Besides it struck me as odd to have the Slytherin Master killed by a snake.
How come is his soul less valuable than anyone elseâ ™s? Is this because he had to kill before? Why is then that you let him kill for the good side? Good sides kill nowadays? I thought they were good, i.e. non-aggressive. I thought they were tolerant, yet they let Severus kill for them and then shun him like he is a leper. Since when is this proper behaviour?
Is this the example you wish to give to children? It is okay to shun, use and humiliate a person, as long as he is odd and inapproachable like Severus. Did you ever stop to think even an outcast has feelings and so can be feeling actual hurt? Do you know how many people see his pain and recognize it? So many people have been through something similar and get strength from Severus, seeing him deal with it. The way you killed him killed their hope.
Do you think it is cool to hurt from unrequited love all your life? Really, how can a happily married woman feel what Severus must have felt? Desperation, want, hope, dreams, motivation, fear. So many emotions yet you only showed ONE: guilt.
Guilt he already had paid for at least ten times. I think this is not a brilliant plot, it is favouritism.
Itâ ™s true: we canâ ™t like everyone, but.. itâ ™s not necessary to portray someone so disrespectful as you did to Severus Snape. He was always a safety factor in the stories, someone to rely on when things got rough on Harry, and this is how you repay him: a slow, painful and lonely death.
Another question: why didnâ ™t he get a proper burial? He was, after all, the Headmaster, AND a brave man (which you confirmed), so where were the speeches, the flowers and the mourning? Or didnâ ™t it matter?
Why didnâ ™t anyone step in to help him, but was he left alone to die? Itâ ™s very UNLIKE Harry (who also dislikes injustice). Yes, there was danger, but isnâ ™t there always? Did the fact that Severus saved him numerous times not count this time?
Would you remain passive if someone you knew was attacked in front of you?
Severus Snape deserved much better!
What did he ever do to you that you seem to hate him so much?
Isnâ ™t it true that everyone is entitled to a certain degree of happiness? Severus Snape got none, none at all. He had a terrible childhood, and from there things only got worse.
Do you think you or anyone you know would be strong enough to live his life? Think about that. Realizing this it might occur to you how great a man he really IS yet you keep putting him down.
Severus Snape was the one that should have gotten the reprieve, no one else. He had made amends and deserved a second chance. Now you killed him off like a common rat (snakes eat rats do they not?). This is really a fierce blow to the head and also completely incongruent with your otherwise great story.
I hope you will give this some serious thought, please some more than you did our petition, because unlike what other people might say: you do NOT understand one thing about Severus Snape, but that should never have been a reason to hate him so much to treat him like you did.
His fandom is devastated but we will always love him and support him,
