Firstly,living on campus is really much cheaper than living off campus.Because what the college want is to let you study well and be convenient.So they won't earn much money from you.But living of campus is different.If you rent a house or live in a homestay,it is a business ,and it will cost more.For example,at the University of Toronto,the fee will be $8500 each year,but if you live off campus it would cost you over $10000 each year.So,that seems like living on campus is really economical.

Secondly,it is easier for you to study if you on campus . You would find your professors easily if you live there.Maybe they can teach you face to face . You also have your classmates and friends nearby.You can even discuss with them about your problems.But if you live off campus,you can only phone your professors or send an e-mail to them . It would be less effective than meeting face to face,or having discussion.So if you want to study better and easier,living on campus may be a good choice .

However , you would have less freedom if you live an campus than if you live elsewhere . For example , the gate may close at 23:00,you can't smoke in your room or you can't let others stay in your room at night.But obviously if you live off campus you don't have such limits,you would be toally free . If you want to stay up late or return home late,just go ahead,nobody will care about that . I think no one likes the feeling of being controlled,so think about living off campus .

According to all the details,living on campus and living off campus both have advantages and disadvantages.You can pay less and you can ask your teacher easily,if you choose to live on campus . You can have more freedom if you choose to live off campus.The choice is rely on yourselves If you want to save money or want to study easier , you can live on campus . If you are crazy for freedom ,living off campus may be a good choice .
