渝长厦快速铁路，又称作“渝长厦高铁”或“渝厦高铁”，渝长厦快速铁路西端起于重庆市主城区，东端至厦门市，是一条分段建设、推进，横跨多省市的快速铁路干线。渝长厦快速铁路目前规划的大致路线为：重庆—黔江—张家界—常德—益阳—长沙—湘潭—株洲—萍乡-井冈山—赣州—厦门。

渝长厦快速铁路包括渝黔铁路、黔张常铁路、长益常铁路、长厦铁路等。是连接成渝地区与华中地区并沟通华东、华南的客货运快速通道，是重庆未来铁路运输实现8小时出海的重要组成部分。据2014年2月重庆市发改委介绍，目前重庆到厦门的快速铁路建设尚无具体时间表。重庆市与湖南等沿途省市已配合国家启动了项目中的一些路段前期工作建设。如我市规划有至长沙的快速铁路，由渝黔城际铁路（重庆—黔江）、黔张常铁路（黔江—常德）、长益常城际铁路（常德—长沙）三段组成。根据国家快速铁路网规划，长沙至厦门。经赣州到达厦门。作为“渝长厦”快速铁路中的一段，黔张常铁路将争取在2014年内开工建设。重庆市发改委介绍，目前黔张常铁路已完成可研评估，国家发改委正在审批。黔张常因涉及张家界自然保护区，湖南方面目前正加紧完善环评方案。重庆市发改委介绍，黔张常铁路，西起黔江区，途经湖北咸丰、来凤，湖南省龙山、永顺、桑植、张家界，再经常德的桃源县、鼎城区，到达常德火车站，全长355.5公里。
