The article was poorly named. It should have been "Harden accepts criticism,vows to give more effort" or something like that. He*s owning up to hismistakes.
FWIW(and it*s not worth too much) his defense has looked great so far in preseason.

i just want harden to try. that*s all. if the preseason is any indication ariza is going to do a great job of shoring up our perimeter defense. between bev and trevor, harden can stay on the opposing team*s weakest wing option. better match-ups and a little more effort, rockets win.

Speaking of playoffs, seems like nobody remembers how we were the youngest team in it. There*s 14 other teams they failed as well. But whatever helps to overlook the fact that our team overachieved as far as getting a 4th seed in the fucking West during Harden and Dwight*s first season together.

Marcgasol and tony allen all missed large portions of their season so the griz were not at full strength, nuggets were missing key pieces and underwent a coachingchange after being the 3rd best team in the west two seasons ago, the pels had injuries to anderson and a few other starters through out the season,timberwolves had injuries and under performed, hell even the thunder had some major injuries with westbrook out. The fact remains most of the teams you beat out had major injuries to their roster, so if anything you guys didn*t really achieve anything. Once the playoffs started you guys were knocked out in the very first round
You have supposedly the top center in the NBA and Sg right now, anything less than contenders is just a disappointment. So when settling for "well we got 4th seed and a first round exit!" is dumb when you consider who you had on roster.

best part of the article IMO. All these players haven*t had much time to play together or in the NBA for that matter and they STILL got a 4 seed. I think alot of people are underestimating this team getting another year for their coreto play together.
Look at the teams that dominate in the NBA. Spurs have been together since the beginning of time, OKC has had Russ and KD since 2007, LAC with CP3 and Blakesince 2009, the Miami team before LBJ left for the Cavs. Howard and Harden have only been playing together for 1 full year and people are already ready todismiss their potential. If Morey can just keep this core around for a while I think we will be okay.

James Edward Harden Jr. is a man made of excuses. There is no excuse for not trying hard or being completely engaged aka dialed in. That is exactly how some players make a name for themselves even on subpar teams so this nonsense about not having chemistry is just a cop out, a nice misdirection, a red herring, acute story.
