剪纸的世界(童话故事)

Japanese graphic designer and architect Yusuke Oono devised a beautiful way to illustrate scenes from stories in three dimensions. These awesome 40-panel laser cut paper books tell stories both by turning one page at a time and as a whole when viewed in the round as beautiful dioramas.

Yusuke Oono - architect, graphic designer.
When looking for silhouette artists I came across Oono’s work. I was amazed at how intricate they were and how they combined an old simple style of silhouette with a very modern way of presenting it. I love that there is a sense of depth when you look into them. I feel like I’ve been shrunk down till I’m tiny and placed in a box and left to explore. All the small details used make it easy for the viewer to make out what the silhouettes are meant to be which is key to making silhouettes work in the first place.
