俄罗斯央行18日采取行动，大量抛售外汇，卢布止跌并大幅反弹超过10%。不过，美加和欧盟随之继续抛出对俄罗斯的制裁措施，给俄罗斯施加压力。
加拿大19日对俄罗斯实施新一轮制裁行动，包括限制能源技术的出口，以此就莫斯科跟乌克兰冲突持续问题向俄罗斯总统普京施压。加拿大总理哈珀警告称，加拿大已做好准备，在必要的情况下将连同盟友和伙伴采取进一步的制裁措施。
美国总统奥巴马则宣布对加入俄罗斯的克里米亚半岛实行经济封锁，命令禁止向克里米亚出口商品、技术和服务，禁止从克里米亚进口商品、技术和服务，也禁止对克里米亚进行新的投资。
稍早时候，欧盟国家领导人在布鲁塞尔批准了自今年9月以来新的、间接的对俄制裁措施。从12月20日开始，欧盟以及注册地在欧盟境内的公司将禁止投资克里米亚。欧盟一方的公司将不能在克里米亚购买不动产、为克里米亚公司提供融资以及其他相关服务。除此之外，欧盟旅游业运营商将不能在克里米亚和塞瓦斯托波尔提供旅游服务。除非在紧急情况下，欧洲的游轮不能在克里米亚半岛的港口停靠。这适用于所有欧盟公民拥有、使用或者悬挂欧盟成员国国旗的船只，现有的合约最晚执行到明年3月20日。同时受到禁止的还有特定货物和技术将不能出口给克里米亚的公司，也不能在克里米亚使用；这涉及交通、通讯和能源领域，以及油气等自然资源的勘探和生产。与之相关的基础设施，相关的建筑、工程等服务也遭到禁止

The Russian economy is facing tough times
The Russian Central Bank take action at 18th, selling a large number of foreign exchange, and more than 10% rubles bottomed rebound sharply. However, the United States and Canada and the European Union will continue to throw on the Russian sanctions, and put pressure on Russia.
Canada implemented of a new round of sanctions on Russia’s , including restrictions on energy technology export, in order to Moscow with the Ukraine conflict continued pressure to Russian President Putin. Canadian Prime Minister Harper warned that Canada is ready, it will be necessary in the circumstances, with allies and partners to take further sanctions.
The USA President Nicolas Obama announced to join the Russian Crimea Peninsula imposing an economic blockade, ordered the prohibition of export commodities, technology and services to Crimea, banned imports from Crimea, technology and service, also prohibit new investments in Crimea.
