Jake Gyllenhaal sits down for an interview on The Ellen DeGeneres Show, airing Monday (April 27). The 34-year-old Southpaw actor opened up about his dating life and revealed that he’s a single man. He joked about bringing home women to his mom on their first dates! “Well one thing I always do. Is I always bring my dates to my mother’s house for the first date,” Jake jokingly said. “I think that’s a good move… My mother believes she thinks arranged marriages might be able to work. Ya know what I mean, like in a good way. She thinks that if she picked for me. That I’d do a lot better.”
Unbeknownst to many fans, Gyllenhaal has a musical past of his own, which he revealed to DeGeneres during their chat on Monday. "I was in a really, really bad band when I was in high school," he said. "The name of the band was called Whole Shot...That's one good-looking band right there," he added when the talk-show host put up a photo of the star with his bandmates. "It was rock music, I guess," he said a little sheepishly. "We wrote our own music. I was just a lyricist, so I just wrote the lyrics."
