Job Description – General Manager, PureLiving China (Beijing)

Job overview:
GM of the Beijing operation. This branch targets the large base of multinational companies, international schools, commercial buildings, and hospitals in the Beijing and Northern China area as well as the residential market. The GM’s role focuses on sales management and marketing.
Responsibilities:
Grow sales revenues at acceptable profitability
Increase market and brand awareness through thought leadership, events, and channel partnerships
Recruit, develop, manage, and retain staff
Maintain quality of operations coordination (service delivery)
Home Office Support:
Training – both consultant/technical and BD/sales, including how to engage
Leads – PureLiving parent company is already interacting with a large number of national accounts and will provide warm leads or direct opportunities in addition to what you and your team develop
Brand - Established market brand strength and awareness
IP and technology –proprietary leading-class commercial filtration systems
Partnerships – already exist with labs, remediation, solution equipment and sales channels (Haworth, UL, Aden, CBRE, BOMA, IFMA, etc)
Processes and systems –Integrated ERP system including accounting, inventory, sales management, CRM, project management, HR, and asset management. Processes: consultant playbooks, remediation SOPs, report templates.
Back office support - HR, finance and accounting, report draft review
Marketing materials and nationwide channels - brochures, pamphlets, thought leadership, articles, website with content, social media campaigns and presence
Experience:
Minimum of 3 years’ demonstrated track record of sales success
Minimum of 2 years’ team management experience; ideally in sales, business development, or general team management
Educational background in science, chemistry, sustainability, engineering, architecture, or corporate real estate preferred
Industry experience in our key client industries preferred: green building (design or build), corporate real estate and development, facilities or property management, operations, environmental consulting or solutions, environmental health & safety, industrial hygiene, or healthcare.
Experience in startup or international companies highly favored
Desired Skills/Characteristics:
Must be a local hire and currently located in Beijing area with local network
Gregarious personality – must enjoy networking and meeting people
Near-native Mandarin speaker and ability to pitch and develop business with Chinese clients and partners. If Chinese, strong written business English and comfort in interaction with foreigners (large part of our business is still interactions with foreign business managers)
Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Powerpoint – particularly in developing proposals and sales pitches
Familiar with sales management tools and processes such as pipeline reviews, sales forecasting, channel partner development, and sales management or CRM tools
Fun, team-oriented, likes to learn and solve challenges
Passion for making a difference and helping clients
Work location & hours:
Occasional business travel to Shanghai HQ
Working hours are typically from 0930-1830
Beijing office is located in Chaoyang District, near Tuanjiehu subway stop (Line 10)
Benefits:
Monthly base salary and professional allowance negotiable, depending on experience and candidate strength.
Profit sharing
Vacation: National holidays + two weeks (10 days) of paid personal vacation
