Oliver Twist was born in a night in a workhouse .His mother died after being delivered a baby that night , and Oliver began his poor life.
Oliver Twist befan to work at the age of 9.The monitor of the workhouse ,Mr Bumble ,who was a unfeeling man,disliked Oliver because of his age and ability, and decided to send him to Mr. Sowerberry’s coffin shop ,to make him help Mr. Sowerberry look the shop.

One day , Oliver fought against a boy there because the boy bullied him.The boy lied to Mrs. Sowerberry ,so that the hostess misunderstood that Oliver is a rude , dangerous boy .Mr. Bumble suggested not to let Oliver have meat, so that he would have no strength to fight.

Thus Oliver’s life became dark ,and he escaped for fear of the terrible life.
He planned to walk to London ,and walked 7 days, but be trick to be a thief.

He understood the identity of the boys who saved him, when he saw these boy stole a handkerchief from a old gentleman and ran away again but was caught by someone , after knew that Oliver was misunderstood, Mr. Brownlow, the old hentleman whose handkerchief was stolen, decided to bring him home and have Oliver to be his servant. But, it was not long before he was caught by the thieves again.
Oliver was a good guy , he want to be a gentleman , so he betrayed the group of the thieves ,and help the family's wealth not be stolen. But unfortunately, he was gunned when he ran with Silkes and Toby (two old thieves ).

Oliver was saved and received by the kind-heared family, and had a better live.
But on the other hand, Nancy,a woman who loved Sikes, was killed by her lover Sikes. Because she heard about Oliver's birth, and help Oliver in secret.

It is said that, Monks' father fell in love with another woman, and have a son, named Oliver. His father left a wealth for Oliver, and died. Monks ruined the testament and evidenc, and occupied the treasure. In short, Monks was Oliver's brother, but wanted to ruin Oliver ,for wealth.

In the end of the story, Nancy's dead caught the police's eyes ,Silks died for fear,while Fagin was caught and be hanged by neck.
Monks went to America , he wasted all his money there and died in prison.
Only Oliver live with Mr. Brownlow and Mrs. bedwin happily
