最近在听Sex Pistols的歌,虽然最喜欢的还是GOD SAVES THE QUEEN.我要承认我很早就喜欢SID,和音乐和作风什么的无关,仅仅是喜欢他那种满不在乎的天真的样子.

昨天买了双自己不是很喜欢的匡威,江汉路上有很大的匡威的广告牌,第二个,我看到了那个如此邪恶又如此单纯的SID.

于是猛然想起他给NANCY的那句话,I don't want to live this life, if I can't live for you. To my beautiful baby girl. Our love will never die.

朋克死了吗?朋克只属于七十年代,它早就已经给SID殉葬了.

Tragic punk couple Sid Vicious and Nancy Spungen. In 1978, when Sid was in Riker's Island Jail for assaulting Patti Smith's brother Todd with a beer mug, he wrote to Spungen: "I don't want to live this life, if I can't live for you. To my beautiful baby girl. Our love will never die." This shot forms part of the 'Sid Vicious: No One Is Innocent' exhibition at Proud Galleries, Camden, from June 4-11 August

'Sid & Nancy', the controversial 1986 film based on Vicious and Spungen's tragic story (which starred a young Courtney Love) was full of glaring inaccuracies. When Sex Pistol John Lydon was later asked, "Did the movie get anything right?" he replied: "Maybe the name Sid."

Many were suprprised when Vicious went solo after the Sex Pistols split in 1978, since he'd never exhibited much musical talent. Fellow Sex Pistol John Lydon later recalled that, "the first rehearsals with Sid were hellish. Everyone agreed he had the look. Sid tried real hard ... but boy, he couldn't play bass".

Sid Vicious was born Simon John Ritchie, and there are a number of rumours why he adopted the stage name - the most popular being that it was a nickname given to him by fellow Sex Pistol John Lydon, who owned a pet hamster called Sid. It was, apparently, "the softest, furriest, weediest thing on earth".

After the Sex Pistols broke up, Vicious' girlfriend Nancy Spungen became his manager. He recorded a live solo-album in 1979 called 'Sid Sings' backed by 'The Idols'; Arthur Kane and Jerry Nolan of the New York Dolls, plus guitarist Steve Dior. The album featured covers including Sinatra's 'My Way' and The Stooges' 'I Wanna Be Your Dog'.

According to Sex Pistols manager Malcolm McLaren, following his arrest for Nancy’s murder in November 1978, Vicious planned to fund his defense by releasing an album of cover versions, including 'White Christmas' and 'Mack The Knife', with fellow Pistols Steve Jones and Paul Cook.

After Vicious' failed su*cide attempt in October 1978, 10 days after Nancy's death, a note was found which read, "We had a death pact. I have to keep my half of the bargain. Please bury me next to my baby. Bury me in my leather jacket, jeans and motorcycle boots. Goodbye." This has stoked speculation that Sid's heroin overdose the following February was actually su*cide.

Vicious was arrested and charged with the murder of his girlfriend Nancy Spungen in November 1978. He initially confessed to killing her but later denied it, claiming he had awoken from a drugged stupor to find Nancy on the bathroom floor with a single stab wound to her stomach.

Vicious once told a tabloid journalist, "I'll die before I'm 25, and when I do I'll have lived the way I wanted to." True to his word, he died of a heroin overdose on February 2, 1979, at the age of 21.

After John Lydon quit the Sex Pistols in January 1978, the remaining band members briefly carried on without him, with Vicious, Cook and Jones taking it in turns to sing. Vicious famously had a cavalier attitude to musicianship. He once said, "You just pick up a chord, go twang, and you've got music."

Vicious attempted su*cide on October 22, 1978 - 10 days after his girlfriend Nancy was found dead in a hotel room in New York. He was taken to Bellevue Hospital. After he recovered he was charged with assault for smashing a beer mug in the face of Patti Smith's brother, Todd Smith, and was sent to Riker's Island jail for 55 days.
