There is no exact definition of the word happiness.Happy people are happy for all sorts of reasons(快乐这一词并没有确切的定义,快乐的人各有各种快乐的理由)I agree with this sentence. We should lead a happy life in our college. No matter what you expect, come on ,just do it.(31)

The latest bizarre photograph left the Internet baffled,so do I.
It's the latest bizarre photograph which has left the Internet baffled.
This holiday snap of a little girl has left thousands of people confused as to whether she is underwater, or jumping into a pool.
The picture was posted on photo-sharing website Imgur, where it has been viewed more than 1.4million times, and prompted fierce debate over what it actually shows.

              Three Days to See
All of us have read thrilling stories in which the hero had only a limited and specified time to live. Sometimes it was as long as a year, sometimes as short as 24 hours. But always we were interested in discovering just how the doomed hero chose to spend his last days or his last hours. I speak, of course, of free men who have a choice, not condemned criminals whose sphere of activities is strictly delimited.
Such stories set us thinking, wondering what we should do under similar circumstances. What events, what experiences, what associations should we crowd into those last hours as mortal beings, What happiness should we find in reviewing the past? What regrets?
Sometimes I have thought it would be an excellent rule to live each day as if we should die tomorrow. Such an attitude would emphasize sharply the values of life. We should live each day with gentleness, vigor and a keenness of appreciation which are often lost when time stretches before us in the constant panorama of more days and months and years to come.

In the original Chichen Soup for the soul,Jack Canfield tell the story of Monty, who was the son of an itinerant horse trainer of little means.During his senior year he was assigned a writing project to describe what he wanted to be when he grew up.His seven-page essay minutely detailed the 200-acre ranch he want to own.It included a diagram of the ranch and a detailed floor plan of his 4000 square foot home.
Despite the passion and effort Monty put into his paper,he received it back with a large “F”written on it and a note to see the teacher after class. The teacher told Monty that the reason he had given him that grade, was because his paper was unrealistic. He went on to cite all of the reasons why,and told Monty that he would rewrite the paper, with a more realistic goal,he would reconsider the grade.
After considering it for a week, the young man turned in the same paper with no changes, along with the remark,"You can keep the 'F' and I'll keep my dream."

                    Discovery
The word “discovery” literally means, uncovering something that’s hidden from view. But what really happens is a change in the viewer. The familiar offers comfort few can resist, and fewer still want to disturb. But as relatively recent inventions such as the telescope and microscope have taught us, the unknown has many layers. Every truth has geological strata, and you can’t have an orthodoxy without a heresy. The moment a newborn opens its eyes, discovery begins. I learned this with a laugh one morning after delivering a calf. When it lifted up its fluffy head and looked at me, its eyes held the absolute bewilderment of the newly born. A moment before it had the even black nowhere of the womb, and suddenly its world was full of colour, movement and noise. I’ve never seen anything so shocked to be alive.

                      The Missed Blessings
A young man was getting ready to graduate from college. For many months he had admired a beautiful sports car in a dealer's showroom, and knowing his father could well afford it, he told him that was all he wanted.
As Graduation Day approached, the young man awaited signs that his father had purchased the car. Finally, on the morning of his graduation, his father called him into his privatestudy. His father told him how proud he was to have such a fine son, and told him how much he loved him. He handed his son a beautiful wrapped gift box. Curious, but somewhat disappointed, the young man opened the box and found a lovely, leather-bound Bible, with the young man's name embossed in gold. Angrily, he raised his voice to his father and said, "With all your money you give me a Bible?" He then stormed out of the house, leaving the Bible.
Many years passed and the young man was very successful in business. He had a beautiful home and a wonderful family, but realizing his father was very old, he thought perhaps he should go to see him. He had not seen him since that graduation day. Before he could make the arrangements, he received a telegram telling him his father had passed away, and willed all of his possessions to his son. He needed to come home immediately and take care of things.
When he arrived at his father's house, sudden sadness and regret filled his heart. He began to search through his father's important papers and saw the still new Bible, just as he had left it years ago. With tears, he opened the Bible and began to turn the pages. As he was reading, a car key dropped from the back of the Bible. It had a tag with the dealer's name, the same dealer who had the sports car he had desired. On the tag was the date of his graduation, and the words... "PAID IN FULL".
How many times do we miss blessings because they are not packaged as we expected? Do not spoil what you have by desiring what you have not; but remember that what you now have was once among the things you only hoped for.
Sometimes we don't realize the good fortune we have or we could have because we expect "the packaging" to be different. What may appear as bad fortune may in fact be the door that is just waiting to be opened.
                      from Veuns

                        Companionship of Books 以书为伴(节选)
A man may usually be known by the books hereads as well as by the company he keeps; for there is a companionship of booksas well as of men; and one should always live in the best company, whether itbe of books or of men.
A good book may be among the best offriends. It is the same today that it always was, and it will never change. Itis the most patient and cheerful of companions. It does not turn its back uponus in times of adversity or distress. It always receives us with the samekindness; amusing and instructing us in youth, and comforting and consoling usin age.
Men often discover their affinity to eachother by the mutual love they have for a book just as two persons sometimesdiscover a friend by the admiration which both entertain for a third. There isan old proverb, ‘Love me, love my dog.” But there is more wisdom in this:” Loveme, love my book.” The book is a truer and higher bond of union. Men can think, feel, and sympathize with each other through their favorite author. They livein him together, and he in them.
A good book is often the best urn of a lifeenshrining the best that life could think out; for the world of a man’s lifeis, for the most part, but the world of his thoughts. Thus the best books aretreasuries of good words, the golden thoughts, which, remembered and cherished, become our constant companions and comforters.
Books possess an essence of immortality. They are by far the most lasting products of human effort. Temples and statuesdecay, but books survive. Time is of no account with great thoughts, which areas fresh today as when they first passed through their author’s minds, agesago. What was then said and thought still speaks to us as vividly as ever fromthe printed page. The only effect of time have been to sift out the badproducts; for nothing in literature can long survive e but what is really good.
Books introduce us into the best society;they bring us into the presence of the greatest minds that have ever lived. Wehear what they said and did; we see the as if they were really alive; wesympathize with them, enjoy with them, grieve with them; their experiencebecomes ours, and we feel as if we were in a measure actors with them in thescenes which they describe.
The great and good do not die, even in this world.Embalmed in books, their spirits walk abroad. The book is a living voice. It isan intellect to which on still listens.感觉很高大上的样子,所以就分享一下,嘻嘻(No:06)
