好运就是当机会来临时，你早已做好了准备。
2.The worst thing is (when you call friends） and they've gone out.
最糟糕的事情是，你给朋友打电话，而他们却出去了。
我的问题是，这两个句子中的见括号处，when在这里是作为名词性从句理解，还是省略了先行词的定语从句理解？
如果是作为名词性从句那么when an opportunity comes along and you're prepared for it。这个话则是由特殊疑问句when does an opportunity come along ?改变而成（那么句子就应该翻译为：好运是机会会何时来临）
when you call friends。这句话则是由when do you call friends?改变而成（整个句子就应该翻译为，最糟糕的事情是你的朋友何时打电话过来。）感觉翻译不通啊。。。。。。
那是不是应该理解为是定语从句 那么when前面是不是省略掉了先行词？
