Everyone comes into your life for a reason; some good, some bad. They shape us and break us, but in the end make us who we are.每个人走进你的生活都是有原因的,有好的,有坏的。TA们塑造了我们,又将其打碎,但最后,造就了我们现在的自己。
Never say you have failed until you have reached your last attempt, and never say it’s your last attempt until you have succeeded.——绝不承认失败,除非你尽了最后的努力;绝不说尽了最后的努力,除非你成功了。
To be beautiful means to be yourself. You don't need to be accepted by others. You need to accept yourself. 真正的美就是做自己,你不需要被别人认可,你只需要接受最真实的自我。
Life may not be the party we hoped for, but while we’re here, we should dance.——人生或许不是我们期盼的那场宴会,但既然来了,就跟着起舞吧。
No matter how bad things get, something good is out there, just over the horizon.不管事情变得多坏,在不远的地方,相信总会有一些美好即将来临。
Leave all your unhappiness to yesterday, give all your hopes to tomorrow, and do all your hard work today. 把所有的不快给昨天,把所有的希望给明天,把所有的努力给今天。
Don't rush anything. When the time is right, it'll happen. 凡事不要心急。时间对了,要来的总会来。
I like these sentences, they make me feel that my future is bright and full of hope.

          英语故事短文:愚蠢的小鸡
          A Foolish Chicken
Christmas was coming .Mr Smith had no money to buy any presents for his children .His wife was ill and he spent a lot of money on her medicine .And the harvest was bad and all his family were going go be hungry the next spring .He was quite worried about it .
“We had only a cock ,”said Mrs Smith one day .“You’d better take it to the town .Sell it there and buy some cakes and sweets for our children .”
“It’s a good idea !”the man said and caught the cock the next morning and put it into a box .It was difficult to walk on the road covered with thick snow .Two hours later he was very tied and wanted to have a rest .He put the box to the ground and sat down .
“The air in the box must be close ,”the man said to himself .“I’d better let the cock walk outside for a while ,or it’ll die .”
So he put the cock to the ground .When he started again ,he couldn’t catch it any longer .
“How foolish you are !”Mr Smith called out angrily .“You can herald the break of day at night but you cann’t find the way to the town in the daytime !”我笑点低,觉得这有点点搞笑

            The facts确切数字
Editors of newspapers and magazines often go to extremes to provide their reader with unimportant facts and statistics. Last year a journalist had been instructed by a well-known magazine to write an article on the president's palace in a new African republic. When the article arrived, the editor read the first sentence and then refuse to publish it. The article began: 'Hundreds of steps lead to the high wall which surrounds the president's palace'. The editor at once sent the journalist a fax instructing him find out the exact number of steps and the height of the wall.
The journalist immediately set out to obtain these important facts, but the took a long time to send them Meanwhile, the editor was getting impatient, for the magazine would soon go to press. He sent the journalist two more faxes, but received no reply. He sent yet another fax informing the journalist that if he did not reply soon he would be fired. When the journalist again failed to reply, the editor reluctantly published the article as it had originally been written. A week later, the editor at last received a fax from the journalist. Not only had the poor man been arrested, but he had been sent to prison as well. However, he had at last been allowed to send a fax in which he informed the editor that the he had been arrested while counting the 1,084 steps leading to the fifteen-foot wall which surrounded the president's palace.

But mostly, given another shot at life,I would seize every minute, look at it and really see it,live it and never give it back.
Stop sweating the small stuff.Don't worry about who doesn't like you,who has more,or who's doing what.Instead, let's cherish the relationships we have with those who do love us .Let's think about what God has blessed us with . And what we are doing each day to promote ourselves mentally, physicially, emotionally,as well as spiritually.

                    Hello, it's me
I was wondering if after all these years you'd like to meet
                    To go over everything
They say that time's supposed to heal ya but I ain't done much healing
                    Hello, can you hear me
I'm in California dreaming about who we used to be
When we were younger and free
I've forgotten how it felt before the world fell at our feet
There's such a difference between us
                    And a million miles
                    Hello from the other side
I must've called a thousand times to tell you
I'm sorry, for everything that I've done
But when I call you never seem to be home
                    Hello from the outside
At least I can say that I've tried to tell you
I'm sorry, for breaking your heart
But it don't matter, it clearly doesn't tear you apart anymore
                    Hello, how are you
It's so typical of me to talk about myself
                    I'm sorry, I hope that you're well
Did you ever make it out of that town
                    Where nothing ever happened
                    It's no secret
That the both of us are running out of time
                    Hello from the other side
I must've called a thousand times to tell you
I'm sorry, for everything that I've done
But when I call you never seem to be home
                    Hello from the outside
At least I can say that I've tried to tell you

【This week I continue to practice this article】
                        Discovery
The word “discovery” literally means, uncovering something that’s hidden from view. But what really happens is a change in the viewer. The familiar offers comfort few can resist, and fewer still want to disturb. But as relatively recent inventions such as the telescope and microscope have taught us, the unknown has many layers. Every truth has geological strata, and you can’t have an orthodoxy without a heresy. The moment a newborn opens its eyes, discovery begins. I learned this with a laugh one morning after delivering a calf. When it lifted up its fluffy head and looked at me, its eyes held the absolute bewilderment of the newly born. A moment before it had the even black nowhere of the womb, and suddenly its world was full of colour, movement and noise. I’ve never seen anything so shocked to be alive.

                          YOUTH
                          Samuel Ullman
Youth is not a time of life; it is a state of mind; it is not a matter of
rosy cheeks, red lips and supple knees; it is a matter of the will, a
quality of the imagination, a vigor of the emotions; it is the freshness of
                          the deep springs of life.
Youth means a tempera-mental predominance of courage over timidity, of the
appetite for adventure over the love of ease. This often exists in a man of
60 more than a boy of 20. Nobody grows old merely by a number of years. We
grow old by deserting our ideals.
Years may wrinkle the skin, but to give up enthusiasm wrinkles the soul.
Worry, fear, self-distrust bows the heart and turns the spring back to dust.
Whether 60 or 16, there is in every human being's heart the lure of wonder,
the unfailing childlike appetite of what's next and the joy of the game of
living. In the center of your heart and my heart there is a wireless
station: so long as it receives messages of beauty, hope, cheer, courage and
power from men and from the Infinite, so long are you young.
When the aerials are down, and your spirit is covered with snows of cynicism
and the ice of pessimism, then you are grown old, even at 20, but as long as
your aerials are up, to catch waves of optimism, there is hope you may die
                          young at 80.

The fast pace at which the Internet has entered and transformed our lives has had an impact on the words and language we use(互联网发展如此迅速,极大的改变了我们的生活,同时也对我们使用的单词和语言有很大的影响). It is 20 years since the website Dictionary.com was created, and it has looked back at the past two decades to see how the worldwide web has created additional definitions to many commonly used words. Dictionary.com boss Liz McMillan says it's interesting to see, "just how much the rise of technology has shaped our word use over time". She said: "To commemorate the 20th birthday of Dictionary.com, we look back at 20 words that have expanded in meaning over the last 20 years." The website has been documenting new lexical uses since, "the dawn of the Internet era".
Perhaps one of the most easily recognisable changes is to the word "friend". For centuries, this word has been a noun. However, with the meteoric rise of Facebook, this very common word is now also a verb, as in, "Can you friend me?(你能加我为好友吗)" A variant of this word is "befriend," which means to become friends with someone (usually in the real and not cyber world). The word "tablet" used to commonly refer to a flat piece of stone, clay, or wood that is used to write on. Now it's more likely to mean a touchscreen device that is Internet-enabled. Other words that have new definitions include "cloud," "wireless," "viral," "tweet" and "troll". There's no knowing which new words will have new meanings in the next two decades.
