Gavin Murphy was born in Belfast and is based in Dublin. He Graduated in Music from Newcastle College and from the University Of London for Post Graduate Studies, later studying arranging and orchestration with Gerry Gates and Ben Newhouse of Berklee College Of Music.
In his diverse work as a music producer, arranger, orchestrator, musical director, composer and session musician Gavin has been involved with numerous projects for BBC, RTE, PBS, Mind The Gap Films, Tyrone Productions, Shinawil Productions and Joseph Lloyd Productions among others.
He has written television themes, orchestral scores, original songs as well as advertising jingles. He is a freelance arranger and composer and has written for popular, jazz and symphonic settings.
