Levadiakos – PAOK: Mixed zone
Right after the final whistle of the game against Levadiakos, PAOK players expressed their disappointment regarding the result and their complaints for the goal disallowed by Aretopoulos. Here is what they said in detail:
14.12.2015
Dimitar Berbatovtalked about his disallowed goal:
«I have competed in the English Premier League for years. As far as I am concerned and based on my experience, there is no foul in that play. But that doesn’t count, only what the referee awarded. Having competed in England, I would describe that play as two players competing for the ball. I wouldn’t want to comment any further. We could have won, but didn’t» .
Dimitris Pelkastalked about the team’s failure to produce more chances to score:
«We tried to win. In the second half, we pressured Levadiakos more, scored a disallowed goal, but were later told that there was no foul on that play. We keep on going. It’s important that we didn’t concede again. We were better. I adore having quality teammates. They help me learn, improve. When rivals play behind the ball in half-pitch, as we did in Dortmund, it’s difficult to crack their defence. In football, the tricky part is creating plays, new ideas are in need. Today I get many more matches compared to my first season. There’s more pressure with matches every three days. I try to provide my coach and my teammates with solutions and improve constantly. Improvement can be achieved only through games. We wasted the most important games in the matches against Panathinaikos and Panetolikos. We were at a rough patch then. The upcoming break will help us to regain our composure and I am confident that we will be better in the second half of the season, on our way to the play-offs» .
