When Tamannaah came to know about Karthi and Nagarjuna being cast in Thozha (Tamil)/Oppiri (Telugu), the adaptation of the French film, The Intouchables, she hoped that she would be part of the project, too. "When I got a call from the producers, I did not hesitate to say yes," begins the actress. But had she watched the original before? "No, I chose not to watch The Intouchables. From what I hear, my role is very different from the original and I wanted to go with Vamshi's version of the character. He has kept the soul of the film alive, and has adapted it for the Indian audience. It is not a remake," she says.
Although the movie revolves largely around the relationship between a quadriplegic millionaire and his caregiver, Tamannaah has a significant role to play as well. "I play Keerthi, Nag's personal assistant. My character is savvy and I don a 'corporate look' in the film. Keerthi also shares a special bond with Nag sir's character," she says
