    先是电影,上个TOP20
    TOP20 Star Wars I-III (1999-2005) George Lucas (1999-2005)
Now complete, the Star Wars Trilogy I-III was saved at the bell by the third instalment. Episode I follows young Jedi Obi-Wan Kenobi (Ewan McGregor) and his mentor as they battle for peace while minding the good Queen of Naboo. Of course no surprise, but by the last episode Anakin Skywalker has gone over to the Dark Side.
    前传被喷得一塌糊涂,平心而论,其实EP3也还好
    Top19 Planet of the Apes
A space shot goes wrong and the crew is propelled two-thousand years into the future. They end up on a planet where apes are the dominant species and humans are slaves. Rod Serling had a hand in the film and Charlton Heston shines in the starring role. While easy enough to guess, the resolution is nonetheless startling.

      TOP18 Gattaca Andrew Niccol (1997)
Top-notch near-future tale about society gone awry with genetic-engineering. Naturally born "In-Valids" are discriminated against on the basis of their inferior genes. An In-Valid purchases a "Valid" identity from a disabled man and attempts to fool regular gene testing in order to fulfil his dream of going on a mission to Titan.
TOP17 Jurassic Park Steven Spielberg (1993)
Adapted from a Michael Crichton novel about a theme park where the main attraction is genetically-cloned dinosaurs. A small group is allowed an advance preview, whereupon all manner of prehistoric predators get loose and create havoc. Typical Spielberg affair with Jeff Goldblum continuing on his science fictional career path.

Top14 The Day the Earth Stood Still Robert Wise (1951)
Michael Rennie oozes pure class as the peace-loving alien who cops a nasty reception from trigger-happy humans when his flying saucer lands on Earth. Fortunately, his sidekick robot is a little harder to knock down and the day is saved with a timely 'Klaatu barada nikto'. Memorable anti-nuclear warning, still relevant today.
        十分经典的片子,不知大家看过没有
        Top13Forbidden Planet Fred M Wilcox (1956)
For a long time considered the greatest sci-fi film of all time, Forbidden Planet is a tour-de-force of intelligent ideas. Based on Shakespeare's The Tempest, a space crew visits a planet where Walter Pidgeon has set up a one-man empire. Leslie Nielsen plays it straight and Anne Francis has fantastic legs, but Robby the Robot is the real star. Superb SFX for its time.

          Top12 A Clockwork Orange Stanley Kubrick (1971)
Droogies' led by Malcolm McDowell (Alex) roam the streets beating people up and raping women. Alex is apprehended and cops some nasty aversion therapy which leads to complications. Graphic violence is set to classical music and Gene Kelly's 'Singin' In the Rain'. Based on the Anthony Burgess novel and not for all tastes.
Top11 Back to the Future Robert Zemeckis (1985)
An eccentric scientist played by Christopher Lloyd sends '80s teenager Marty McFly (Michael J Fox) back to the 1950s in a time-travelling luxury sports car. Marty inadvertently alters the life-paths of his parents and then has to set things right. The film gives a wonderful 1980s take on 1950s ideological viewpoints. Good family fun.

TOP16 Close Encounters of the Third Kind Steven Spielberg (1977)
Three separate sub-plots revolve around an obsessed power-company employee (Richard Dreyfuss), a ufologist, and a woman whose son has been abducted by aliens. UFOs are showing up all over the place and the three are eventually drawn to an alien landing site. Paranoia be damned - the ETs turn out to be really nice.
TOP15 Star Trek II - Wrath of Khan Nicholas Meyer (1982)
Trek got back to basics with this action-packed adventure featuring one of the most feared TOS adversaries. Ricardo Montalban reprises his role as Khan - a genetically enhanced human bent on revenge. Nowhere near the budget (or running time) of its predecessor, in the process highlighting all the things that make Trek great. Started the tradition of the 'even' movies being the good ones.
            我是Trekker……

              TOP10 Twelve Monkeys Terry Gilliam (1995 )
Arthouse short film La Jetée provided the inspiration for both Gilliam and star Bruce Willis to hit creative peaks in this ingenious apocalyptic time-travel tale. In the not-too-distant future a deadly plague forces humanity underground. A criminal volunteers to go back in time and help find a cure in exchange for wiping his slate clean.
              TOP9 Terminator 2 - Judgement Day James Cameron (1991 )
Big Arnie is back… but this time he is a sensitive new age cyborg out to do good instead of evil while facing off against a cyborg with different ideas. All the time-travelling twists and conundrums of the original, with an unexpectedly healthy dose of 'man vs machine' social conscience thrown in for good measure.

                TOP8 The Terminator James Cameron (1984 )
Man vs machine in this superior Schwarzenegger action flick about a cyborg 'terminator' sent back from the near-future to prevent the rise of the human resistance movement by killing its leader's mother before she gives birth. Hard to imagine anyone but Big Arnie in the role, which he paradoxically reprises in the brilliant 1991 sequel.
TOP7 The Fifth Element Luc Besson 1997
Frustrated Brooklyn cab driver (Bruce Willis) takes us on a fun-filled excursion through the 23rd century. Willis gets lovingly tangled up with an enigmatic alien who holds the key to saving the Earth from destruction. The evil villain is a nightmare made sufferable by the comic presence of a mixed-up priest and an over-the-top radio host.

                  TOP6 Aliens James Cameron 1986
A rare sequel that manages to outdo the original, which is a fine film in its own right. Sigourney Weaver is again terrific as Ripley - the only one left alive after the original Alien movie (1979). A squadron of Marines heads off to the home planet of the nasty aliens, intent on wiping them out. Taut and terrifying - definitive space-horror.
                  TOP5 2001: A Space Odyssey Stanley Kubrick 1968
Widely regarded as Kubrick's masterpiece, 2001 is an entrancing visual extravaganza that is without peer. Humanity's four-million year history of contact with unseen aliens culminates in the discovery of an artefact on the Moon. An expedition tracks it to Jupiter. Things go awry when HAL, the on-board computer, turns nasty.
                  永恒的经典科幻小说和电影的里程碑

                    TOP4 The Matrix L & A Wachowski 1999
Definitive virtual reality head-trip about a software programmer (Keanu Reeves) obsessed with the legendary Morpheus - an all-knowing hacker. He discovers the world is ruled by super-computers which are using humans as battery power. Both the outstanding "bullet time" visual effects and martial arts sequences are not to be missed.
                    看了这玩意,我都开始怀疑世界的真实性了
                    Top3 Alien Ridley Scott 1979
The ultimate sci-fi horror film - with the possible exception of its equally fine sequel, Aliens (1986). Sigourney Weaver shines in a top-notch cast playing crew-members of a space-freighter which picks up a tear-your-heart-out alien passenger. Wonderfully original set designs and outstanding special effects top off the mix.
                    这个第三我心服口服

TOP2 Star Wars Trilogy IV-VI (1977-83) George Lucas, et al 1977
Blockbuster science fantasies that paved the way for others that followed. The now-familiar story traces Luke Skywalker's battle with an evil emperor and his Dark Lord sidekick. The standard good vs evil plot-lines involve a multitude of family skeletons in the closet. The effect of Lucas' concept of 'the Force' runs deep. Seminal.
                      这玩意不用介绍了吧,大家都熟,如果让我排我肯定把它放第一
TOP1 Blade Runner Ridley Scott (1991)
Director's Cut sees the silly voice-over narration and upbeat ending of the 1982 version replaced with something much closer to what the original Philip K Dick story intended. Marlowe-style detective (Harrison Ford) tracks rebellious android 'replicants' in bleak near-future Los Angeles. Other cuts have since emerged leaving plenty of room for debate as to which is the definitive rendering.
                      意料之外的意料之中

TOP10 Neuromancer by William Gibson (1984)
Groundbreaking cyber-granddaddy of them all, this book won the 'Holy Trinity' of sci-fi awards (Hugo, Nebula, Dick). A computer cowboy jacks his mind into cyberspace and swipes information for sale to the highest bidder. Caught in a double-cross, his brain pays the price. The only cure is a conspiratorial cyber-satanic deal. Remains popular.
TOP9 Do Androids Dream of Electric Sheep?by Philip K Dick (1968)
Filmed as Blade Runner, this PKD classic has lost none of its appeal over the years. Bounty hunter Rick Deckard tracks down renegade 'replicants' - almost-faultlessly lifelike androids created to fill the void left by the devastating World War. As usual, Dick keeps us guessing - and the hunter becomes the hunted. Must read novel.

TOP6 Stranger in a Strange Land by Robert A Heinlein (1961)
No respectable hippie-era pad was complete without a copy of Stranger lying on a beanbag somewhere. Human raised by Martians arrives back on Earth, inherits a fortune and is indoctrinated by a Heinlein-like author. He becomes a messiah and free-love abounds. A controversial bestseller in its day and still manages to raise some eyebrows.
                          TOP5 1984by George Orwell (1949)
Orwell got the title by reversing the last two digits in 1948 - the year he wrote this greatest of all anti-utopian satires. A minor bureaucrat in a totalitarian state rebels against the ruling Party and its almost mythical leader Big Brother. Terms like Newspeak, Doublethink and Thought Police became part of the language. Immensely influential.

TOP2Ender's Game by Orson Scott Card (1985)
The first book in Card's superb Ender sequence, although it easily holds its own as a stand-alone. Humanity is attacked by aliens and almost wiped out. Child genius Ender Wiggin is top of the heap in the government's military genius breeding program. A race against time springs some surprises for both Ender and the invading forces. A feature film adaptation was released in 2013.

                            TOP1Dune by Frank Herbert (1965)
The first and best of Herbert's Dune series - to survive on sandworld Arrakis water resources must be carefully preserved. A political power struggle over an immortality drug sees the hero lead desert dwellers and sandworms into battle and begin his rise to messiah status. A sprawling saga that remains immensely popular. Dune Messiah (1969) and Children of Dune (1976) complete the trilogy.
