    1The Coming of Wisdom with Time
    Though leaves are many, the root is one;
    Through all the lying days of my youth,
    I swayed my leaves and flowers in the sun;
    Now I may wither into the truth.
    岁月即智慧
    根惟独条生,却开出一树枝繁叶茂;
    在那虚妄轻狂的青春里,
    我的花与叶在日光下招摇;
    如今,终于凋零成真理。

      2He hears the Cry of the Sedge
      I wander by the edge
      of this desolate lake
      Where wind cries in the sedge:
      Until the axle break
      That keeps the stars in their round
      And hands hurl in the deep
      The banners of East and West
      And the girdle of light is unbound
      哭风
      在这萧索的湖畔
      我一个人游荡着
      等风来
      风在芦苇丛中逃窜着,哽咽着:
      直到天轴崩裂,
      繁星不再转动
      直到双手将苍穹推入无尽深潭
      直到
      日月光环不再相连
      你才能与挚爱
      相拥同眠

        3Memory
        One had a lovely face
        And two or three had charm
        But charm and farce were in vain
        Because the mountain grass
        Cannot but keep the form
        Where the mountain hare has lain
        从前
        从前那些俊俏的脸庞
        也许有的还迷人如昔
        然而容颜
        是海边的火种
        终究会成为带着余温的回忆
        你看那山上的野草
        在春风中造作
        不过
        让野兔出没其中

          4The Heart of the Woman
          O what to me the little room
          That was brimmed up with prayer and rest;
          He bade me out into the gloom,
          And my breast lies upon his breast.
          O what to me my mother's care,
          The house where I was safe and warm;
          The shadowy blossom of my hair
          Will hide us from the bitter storm.
          O hiding hair and dewy eyes,
          I am no more with life and death,
          My heart upon his warm heart lies,
          My breath is mixed into his breath.
          女人心
          呵 虽祷告声充盈
          小舍何用
          他让我遁入黑暗
          我与他紧紧相拥
          呵 虽安稳难寻
          故土家亲何用
          秀发朦胧如花开
          遮天作擎盖
          呵 青丝如云
          媚眼盈盈
          死生成虚妄
          他与我心心相印
          我与他息息相通

            5When you are old
            When you are old and grey and full of sleep,
            And nodding by the fire, take down this book,
            And slowly read, and dream of the soft look
            Your eyes had once, and of their shadows deep;
            How many loved your moments of glad grace,
            And loved your beauty with love false or true,
            But one man loved the pilgrim soul in you,
            And loved the sorrows of your changing face;
            And bending down beside the glowing bars,
            Murmur, a little sadly, how Love fled
            And paced upon the mountains overhead
            And hid his face amid a crowd of stars.
            汝老之年
            汝老鬓霜白,小憩倚炉边。
            颤巍抚书卷,秀目见眼前。
            浪蝶纷飞来,莫辨真与伪。
            惟有真君子,恋汝于心田。
            颓唐炽炉旁,戚戚如诉怨。
            黯然向山巅,归隐繁星间。

              7The choice
              The intellect of man is forced to choose
              Perfection of life ,or of the work,
              And if take the second must refuse
              A heavenly mansion ,raging in the dark.
              When all that story 's finished ,what's the news?
              In luck or out the toil has left its mark:
              That old perplexity an empty purse,
              Or the day's vanity ,the night's remorse
              抉择
              理智,
              使他必须做出抉择:
              穰穰满家,或锦心绣腹?
              若选择后者,注定要告别,
              天国般的楼宇屋舍,
              暗自怨愤煎熬。
              当故事完结,
              是否会有新的篇章?
              不论吉凶祸福,
              辛劳留下它的足迹:
              迷题难解,囊中羞涩;
              白日里虚空,黑夜中懊丧。

                8After Long Silence
                Speech after long silence; it is right,
                All other lovers being estranged or dead,
                Unfriendly lamplight hid under its shade,
                The curtains drawn upon unfriendly night,
                That we descant and yet again descant
                Upon the supreme theme of Art and Song:
                Bodily decrepitude is wisdom; young
                We loved each other and were ignorant.
                在沉默良久之后
                在沉默良久之时
                打破寂静,
                的确,情人们相互疏远
                或者相继离去
                冷漠的灯光
                藏匿在灯罩里,
                厚重的帘幕
                将狡黠的黑夜幽闭,
                于是,我们促膝长谈
                谈文学,谈音乐
                谈论这无上的永恒的主题:
                直到行将就木
                才幡然醒悟
                我们曾经相爱
                却浑然不知

                  9To a squirrel at Kyle-na-no
                  Come play with me;
                  Why should you run
                  Through the shaking tree
                  As though I‘d a gun
                  To strike you dead?
                  When all I would do
                  Is to scratch your head
                  And let you go.
                  致凯尔维诺的一只松鼠
                  来呀
                  和我戏耍
                  沿着摇曳的枝桠
                  你为何跑啦
                  好像我握着枪把
                  要用它
                  将你射杀?
                  那时我想做的呀
                  不过是挠挠你的脑瓜
                  然后就放你走吧

                    11Down by the Salley Gardens
                    Down by the Salley Gardens my love and I did meet;
                    She passed the Salley Gardens, with little snow-white feet.
                    She bid me take love easy, as the leaves grow on the tree;
                    But I, being young and foolish , with her did not agree.
                    In a field by the river my love and I did stand,
                    And on my leaning shoulder, she laid her snow-white hand.
                    She bid me take life easy, as the grass grows on the weirs;
                    But I was young and foolish, and now am full of tears.
                    柳园记
                    闲庭信步,萍水相逢。
                    纤纤雪足,款款玉步。
                    告吾安然,无与女耽。
                    士之不耽,物华苒苒。
                    少不更事,不明忌惮。
                    河畔青青,屹屹亭亭。
                    执子之手,比肩偎依。
                    告吾泰然,郁结几般。
                    壶中日月,绿堤菀菀。
                    惜我愚顽,旦暮泣叹。

                      12He Wishes for the Cloths of Heaven
                      Had I the heavens’ embroidered cloths,
                      Enwrought with golden and silver light,
                      The blue and the dim and the dark cloths
                      Of night and light and the half-light,
                      I would spread the cloths under your feet:
                      But I, being poor, have only my dreams;
                      I have spread my dreams under your feet,
                      Tread softly because you tread on my dreams.
                      许我一匹天国的锦衣
                      许我一匹天国的锦衣,
                      以日月光华作线
                      白日里似蓼蓝
                      黑夜中如深黛
                      晨昏交替时
                      若沉云渐淡,
                      我愿把它铺在你脚下:
                      然而我,
                      家徒四壁,
                      只剩黄粱一梦;
                      就让我把梦铺在你脚下;
                      轻一点,再轻一点
                      因为你正踩着我的梦前行。

                            I,the poet William Yeats,
                            With old mill boards and sea-green slates,
                            And smithy work from the Gort forge,
                            Restored this tower for my wife Geoge;
                            And may these characters remain
