Harbin is a sub-provincial city and the capital of Heilongjiang Province in Northeast China. It lies on the southern bank of Song Hua River. Harbin is much influenced by its neighboring country Russia. The city is well known for its unique Russian and European influenced architecture. St. Sophia cathedral and Sun island are popular home and abroad. Harbin is also known as “Ice city ”for its long and cold winter. The annual ice and snow Sculpture festival has been held since 1985.
