When we do fail Abigail
When we do fail Abigail don't worry about it.
Lest you spend all your time in sorrowing
You're worried about those files down at Mercantilez
But if I could show you our garden that doesn’t have leaves
And that our car lets all the breeze inside
When we do fail Abigail don’t worry about it.
Broken by the Rise (tibia , asphalt and intravenous lines)
It was broken on Annie’s birthday
By that rise near Albion ST
We could tell by the all tyre marks on the road
That it seems that too many things collide there.
You say that you probably won’t be able to go home until the summer
And at some stage there will be that silence
When we say that you’ll probably never ride again.
Chandeliers (on the parish garage sale)
I saw you loading bells and candles into your van.
If there was only some left over wine to bring to Father Brian.
Do you still have those old collection tins of mine ?
And those borrowed casks of wine ?
I saw you loading bells and candles into your van.
If only some of things were mine ?
Some of the old people would say
That when they used to sing there
You could feel God’s kindness singing too.
But I guess we all failed
Because now it’s the final garage sale
Reduced to Clear(the distance from mantel to pawn shop)
The said to leave everything alone until they came
Because you could tell by the finger marks on the window panes
They certainly went through the place
And even took that card you’d made
But for some reason the left all that vinyl that you used to play
The told you to look around
Because everything will usually appear
So I went down there
But all I found was your photograph
In the bin marked reduced to clear.
Petit Mal at a Grand Occasion
Even in the crowds
Even in the crowds on the wedding days
She wouldn’t smile and wouldn’t even stay until you met her
I suppose the wedding tales still upset her
And now she works at a special school out in Macloed
Teaching music to kids who want to hear Alouetta every day
Renting a high rise wasn’t all that you described anyway
And then you trying to deny it in front of all your friend
And the cars that their parents had bought them.
So after all that, don’t tell me that you’ve got it better
Annalee Argyle(on the closing of the florist)
She was sifting through some of the seeds when she heard
And Annalee always got saying mixed up
So she said “Well I guess sad things come in threes,
One week it’s taking all the trees down, then the florist and now this”
Apparently she grew up there
And Mrs Argyle was always telling her
To stop sitting up the top of those trees
At least until she got a bit older.

If you Bring me Aubergines
If you bring me aubergines
And show me photos of all those places that you have been
She will be so pleased to find
That there’s oregano leaves and vegan recipes
But I hope you will sleep
And not only cause of all the pills that you found
She will be so pleased to find
That when you wake up its already bright outside.
A Dark Horse will Either Run First or Last
