Before the Olympic Games, all of us received special training. Under the guidance of the trainer, we got to know what jobs we could do and what we should pay attention to. 
 During the Games, some of us stood outside the stadium, guiding the audience to go into the Bird’s Nest with loudspeakers. Some worked at the information center and offered all kinds of help. Others acted as tour guides andtook foreigners to some places of interest, such as the Great Wall and the Summer Palace, which helped them to get a better understanding of Chinese culture.
 Being a volunteer was a valuable experience for me. Not only did I help others, but also I made many friends. Besides, I felt I could do something for our country.

In the picture, a boy is trying hard to push forward the hour hand of the clock while an old man is making a great effort to push backward the minute hand of the same clock. Both of them are trying their best, but in the opposite directions. 
 The picture shows different attitudes of the old and the young towards time. The old wish that time could slow down, because for them, time is life. They know well how important time is. As time flies, their life will gradually come to an end. On the other hand, the young want time to speed up just because they are eager to grow up soon. They haven’t realized the importance of time as the old do. However, time treats everyone equally. It can go neither faster nor more slowly. And just as the saying goes, “Time and tides wait for no men.” Therefore, as young people, we should make the best of our present time to fulfill our dreams or we will regret it in the future.
