Welcome to the Palace Church of sing by follow meal the great in the city of London.We here to celebrate this magical time whether you are in a young or old Christmas.For the next hour we'll be discovering the stories behind some of our's most popular carols,we even get to sing them as we * visit that *** that happened all those years ago in the city of David.
I'll be travelling to the holy land to discover what has inspired the writer of carols that has been sung for hundreds of years from "O come all ye faithful" to "Away in a manger".I also visit the World War I graves of Belgium to learn how "Silent night" play the dreamatic role in one of the blooded *** wars of modern times.In Italy,I travel to the vines evil town of Assisi to find out more about some Francis,the man who *** claimed* its responsible popular *** what we kown today is Chritmas carols.
Join and meet* to sing these beautiful pieces of music at the advented vocal ensemble,and the boy's choir Libera.

Located just a few minutes walk from the Church in Activity* here in Bethlehem is the Milk Grotto Church.The church gets its name from the white colour rock on the floor,the tradition *** turn that colour when the drop of Mary's milk fell on it while she was nursing her baby Jesus.
And this beautiful *** the spot where it happened.All the churches and the chapels that I visited in Bethlehem,here you can get a real sense the focus on Mary,the mother of God.
And I can't think of a carol that tells this story better than the one written in 1956,it may famous by another than *** in the same year,*** by *** in 1978.
"Mary's Boy Child"
Although it's the birth place of the christine ***.Today less than 10% of Bethlehem's population is Christine,but the faith is till *** life thanks to the efforts of small number of christine born and *** in the city,like father Lbrahim Shomali.
Aled:"Father you were born in Bethlehem here *** in Bethlehem,how important it is a carol to this town?"
Father Shomali:"Carols are very important to full of this town,because people were born here,so it's very important for the city for the people here living in the city."
Aled:"I remember as a small boy growing afterwards every Christmas,we sing carols all of the time.Is it the same for children here?"
Father Shomali:"The same for children all over the world,especially here in this place.They do what they put *** and CDs,they sing with joy and with hope,and it's very nice."
Aled:"How important to sing carols and carols singing is for the word in general?"
Father Shomali:"It's very important,because you know birth from birth* in the family is very important,and also is hope.Hope is very important,and carols here give hopes for the people with no hope,especially in this country in this area. "
Aled:"What's your favourite carol?"
Father Shomali:"(Latin),it's actually in English O Come All Ye Faithful."
Aled:"It's a good carol."
Father Shomali:" It's a very nice one.We sing it in another of the languges"

Jerusalem
Jerusalem is only a short drive away from Bethlehem,and here in Jerusalem old city and activity* story is big business.In town I'm in the Christine *** of the old Jerusalem cause everyway you look there's village's images,there's wooden activity scene,wooden mother and child,wooden Jesus on the cross.Since I am a tourist to Jerusalem after all,I can't leave a ***,can I?But to be honest,I'm not here to shop.Father Shomali has inspired me to come to the heart of Jerusalem to indroduce his favourite carol.And *** for what many see* is the mother of all carols.
Sunrise over the mountain *** in Jerusalem which is considerd to be one of the most religion's sights in the Jew's faith.Tradition tells us that this is where the world's creation began,so we are back here to celebrate the carols that's* love the world over.It' been translated to more than 38 languages since began *** to the Latin"***",It is of cause* "O Come All Ye Faithful"
"O Come All Ye Faithful"
Ever since Jesus was born,Christine has been making *** to Bethlehem eager to feed of the *** energe of the place.Some of these *** has been inspired to write melody and lyrics.But they survived for centuries.
On Christmas Eve back in 1865,a vicar from philadelphia Philips brokes road into Bethlehem on the back of ***.He were so moved by his experience here *** the back home in the USA.He wrote the words to *** about most love carols.Looking out over the little town of Bethlehem Just as Philips brokes *** before me,*** sing the quiet beauty of the early evening.This is really a place where you do feel close to God.

To *** and *** how carols have become part of our part of our lives at Christmas time,we need to leave the Holy Land,and travel to Assisi,a vines evil town in the heart of the Amberlian countryside in Italy.

Assisi Italy
This is the birth place of San Francis,but also the birth place of carols as we know them.Some Francis found peace with God in nature would spend much of his time here,the hermitage,a hillside just outside Assisi.Lying in the grass listening to the melody of birds in the trees,he reflected on how best to *** the story of Jesus.
And this is where Francis came to meditate and be at one with nature.He for* that by using music and image.He communicated God to the masses.

I'll be travelling to the Holy Land to discover what inspired the writers of carols that have been sung for hundreds of years, from "O come all ye faithful" to "Away in a manger". I'll also visit the World War I graves of Belgium to learn how "Silent Night" played a dramatic role in one of the bloodiest wars of modern times. In Italy, I'll travel to the medieval town of Assisi to find out more about St. Francis, the man who many claim was responsible for popularising what we know today as Christmas carols. Joining me to sing these beautiful pieces of music are the Adventist Vocal Ensemble, and the boy's choir Libera.
"Once In Royal David's City"

All the Christmas carols that we enjoy singing so much, "Once In Royal David's City" included, have all been inspired by one major occurrence, the birth of Jesus. So I'm back where it all started. This is the Holy Land.
I'm in the town of Bayt Sahur, a few kilometers southeast of Bethlehem. This is the shepherds' field, and it is where the story of Jesus really began. According to tradition, this is where the angel Gabriel appeared to the shepherds, informing them of Jesus's birth.
And this is the cave where the shepherds slept. The *** "While Shepherds Watched Their Flocks by Night" tells this story beautifully. It's also regarded as one of the oldest carols in existence.
And here to perform this 300-year-old carol, are the boy's choir Libera.
