The Party congress is a major event in the country — and the world. Every five years, the Party meets to evaluate the progress of the past half-decade and chart the course for the next half-decade — and beyond.
The congress is the CPC's supreme leadership body.
Two of its primary functions are decision-making and elections.
It elects members and alternate members to the Party's Central Committee and to the Central Commission for Discipline Inspection.
The general secretary will deliver the report to all delegates on behalf of the central committee.
