The songs of Khalil Fong's, basically, I think the sound of a lot of soul artists, or new soul artists , R&B artists in the west let's say. But in Asia, there are 20 artists who actually doing soul music. We might have artists doing R&B, we might have artists doing hip-hop. But I guess as soul as still pretty unexplored.

Born in Hawaii, Khalil and his family moved to Shanghai at the age of 6 to learn more about the Chinese culture before moving to Hong Kong.

I group this thing to my dad's records, my dad's a drummer, so I would hear Stevie Wonder, 一堆人名. Things that spark me to want to become a singer was when I saw a movie around 4 or 5, I saw La Bamba. After that movie, I had that holy dream of, you know, kids want to be superman or they want to be batman or transformer. But for me, I want to be Richie Balan.(音)

Khalil's road to become a recording artist stared when he was only 16.

Cos about 14 or 16, I started to send my demos up to record companies. About 3 years into the conversation, is about the time to sign about the management routine, just change. The next 2 years, we're again from scratch (till it was a whole). And after that, I singed.
