Emiliano Insua has called for Liverpool to sign off their season in style as they begin preparations for a renewed assault on the Barclays Premier League title next campaign.

Manchester United clinched the crown with a goalless draw against Arsenal on Saturday, although the Old Trafford club were pushed all the way by a Reds side who mounted their best Championship challenge since 1990.

Insua believes the disappointment of missing out on the prize will make Liverpool even more determined to claim the title next season and the Argentina defender is looking to end the current campaign on a high by beating Tottenham Hotspur at Anfield on Sunday.

"Everybody wants to win the title but it wasn't to be for us this year because Man United have won it and this is football," said Insua.

"This means that we have to look at ways that we can improve and hopefully next season will be even better than this one.
