Let’s talk about what's new in Season 6 of Memories of Mars.
We redesigned the UI and we changed the building rules, so here is what’s new so you can jump immediately into it!
For the UI :
•Your status and your quick bar are being relocated and combined to a central UI element.
•We redesigned the Interaction System to be able to handle multiple possible interactions. If you want to interact with a device that has more actions, you will be able to hold the interaction button (F) and get a radial menu to choose your action.
•New look for the UI inventory
•A new look for the building UI, too, with categories to find your buildings more easily.
•FLOPs aren’t an item anymore and you can find yours on the top of your screen. That means you can’t lose them once you picked them up.
For the new building rules:
•Maintenance is no longer based on FLOPs. You don’t have to grind to keep your building protected!
•Instead you get a decay timer for the building that will refresh once you interact with any device connected to the Administration Terminal.
•Buildings can be upgraded by investing FLOPs into your Terminal. This will increase the duration of the decay timer for this building and increases the size of the building you are allowed to build.
•You can invest your FLOPs gradually or the whole amount at once.
•Thanks to your Terminal you can follow your base status and your FLOP investments.
•Building upgrade stages have different parameters that limit the building:
-The maximum amount of building parts supported
-The size of the boundary sphere
-The time frame in which the building may remain unattended before losing ownership.
•Building parts are protected if they have an owner and if they are connected to a Terminal.
•The connection between building parts must be physical. If one of your building parts doesn’t link to your building which has a Terminal, you have to build a new Administration Terminal or construct new building parts to make the link (physically not with the holograms).
•If some buildings aren’t protected any player can dismantle them or use their devices.
•Each building has an ownership countdown (decay timer), if the countdown is over the player loses his permissions.
•An unoccupied building can be claimed by any player for an amount of FLOPs on a Terminal. Those are based on the current upgrade of the unoccupied building.
•Unoccupied buildings have a second countdown. When the second countdown ends, the building will be automatically removed from the server.
We are aware of some bugs and we want to fix them in upcoming patches:
•Sometimes buildings texture appears to show a black pattern.
•Quick building bar appears and does not automatically disappear again. You have to switch with “ ` ” button. You also can switch it in the button’s parameters.
•When you want to loot and double click on an item, the item to the right of the selected item might disappear. We recommend you to click on the “Loot All” button for now to not lose loot. This bug does not affect storage devices.
