Once Upon A Time
Fairy tales don’t exist. There may be a “once upon a time”, but “happily ever after”? No…
Wen is a fairy tale girl. Everybody knows that. She knows it and she hates it. People say that reality is the best teacher, but it just doesn’t work very well for Wen. Although she always reminds herself that there is no such thing like prince charming, deep down inside her heart, she keeps anticipating, anticipating the day that her prince charming would show up and rescue her from… well…whatever.
Now you must assume that Wen is a cute little naïve girl. Well, she is not that either, at least she doesn’t appear like that. She is kinda cool on the outside. She doesn’t talk very much, not to strangers, especially. She is a good at all subjects, in particular, English. She doesn’t have many friends, what’s worse; she doesn’t have one single male friend. Because she doesn’t know how to be with them like the other popular girls do. All this has made her “cool” in the eyes of the others. She hates this kind of “cool”; she swears to God that she’ll change. Up until high school, when almost everyone had found themselves a boy friend or a girl friend. Wen had been single, not very miserably though, as she always comforted and doctrined herself: study comes first, when I get to my ideal university, I will find one.
…
Well, unfortunately, she didn’t find one. She was accepted by a top university in China, She had a boyfriend and he treated her like a princess. But the chemical just wasn’t right. She can’t fall in love with him, so she broke up with him. She thought she broke the heart of that boy and felt so sorry about it, but after a few days, news came that he found another girlfriend.
Reality!!
对,这就是我小文,Wen。完成英文自传的伟大使命还真是不简单。所以和往常一样,我放弃了,何必为难自己呢,还是用我伟大的母语吧!
