Moviemistakes for akeelah and the bee

1.When Javier is giving the play-by-play for the Scrabble game at his birthday party, after the word "funnel" is played, he says "Akeelah is in the lead by 12 points." The "12" is noticeably overdubbed; Javier's lips appear to be saying "seven."

3. The plaque on the wall in Dr. Larabee's office, which he makes Akeelah read, wrongly attributes the quote to Nelson Mandela's 1994 inaugural speech. This is a common mistake, but Nelson Mandela has never used that quote in any of his published speeches. The quote is from Marianne Williamson an American spiritual activist.

4.  On Akeelah's spelling test with a grade of 100%, word 3 is spelled "bacause".

SPOILER: At the national spelling bee championship Dylan spells resipiscence incorrectly. His sound, lip movement, and the subtitles show him spelling resipiscnce. Yet the judges count it as correctly spelled and he later ends up winning the bee along with Akeelah.
