Back in the early '70's, I worked in a grocery store and one night Johnny Carson commented on the shortage of newsprint, which there was a shortage of. Then he stated the next shortage was going to be toilet paper. Within weeks, no matter how much toilet paper we stocked up, we would run out by Friday night. People were even making up lies to justify buying entire cases (96 packages of 4 rolls) and the semi-truck trailers were not big enough to deliver all we needed. Johnny was 50 years ahead of his time.
