As Dec. 21, 2012 approaches, thousands of people in the Netherlands are
preparing for the apocalyptic date by gathering emergency life supplies.
But many people are optimistic.
Since 2012 was thrown around the Internet, in books and now in a major
motion picture, people around the world are preparing for the end of
time on Dec. 21, 2012. There has been discussion of the significance of
that fateful date, whether or not it really is the end of the world,
just a spiritual awakening or nothing at all.
Even the latest truTV series “Conspiracy Theory with Jesse Ventura”
will discuss the possible conspiracy that the world will come to an end
in more than two years and the government is preparing secret
underground bunkers.
Nevertheless, according to the United Press International, thousands of
Dutch citizens are preparing for 2012 by stocking up on emergency
survival supplies, while many are even purchasing life rafts.
However, some were quite optimistic about the possible apocalypse,
reports Press TV. “You know, maybe it's really not that bad that the
Netherlands will be destroyed.” Petra Faile, a person interviewed,
added that he doesn’t like living in the Netherlands anymore because of
immigration and how the government continues to allow people in the
country.
“And then we have to build more houses, which makes the Netherlands
even heavier. The country will sink even lower, which will make the
flooding worse."
