Hello :)
Travelling here from Charleston wasn't a problem for me. I flew to Beijing, then to Europe. So the volcano wasn't in the way. The bad thing was I arrived home on Sunday afternoon and had to leave Wednesday evening again. Now I'll be away from home for another two months :( I miss home! I miss Chinese food. Friends, parents, going out to dinner... When we are travelling, you're going to airports, hotels, tennis courts - you really miss home sometimes.
My first stop in Europe was Sweden for Fed Cup. We lost, but we tried hard. Next time we'll do better. It was a little bit difficult to go from clay back to an indoor hardcourt. Li and Zheng couldn't play either. Anyway, there's next year.
For my coach, the volcano was a problem. He stayed in the US for another week before going to Paris, where I met him, then we came here to Portugal.
I'm always going to the Chinese places here! Next to the hotel there's a casino, and downstairs there's a Chinese restaurant. It's really good. I really like it here in Estoril. The houses and buildings look like they do in China - there is a lot of history between Macau and the Portuguese. A lot of things look the same here.
I had my first match yesterday against Julie Coin, and it was really windy and hard to control the ball, but I just tried to fight and keep it in the court.
Thank you to my fans for all your support. Also, I want to thank Madrid for giving me a wildcard for next week! I'm happy I don't have to play the qualifying...
Bye!!
