当说真话毋需等待时，直言不讳才变得容易。
TO be outspoken is easy when you do not wait to speak the complete truth.
一、诗解
想说句真话都需要等待一个合适的场所和条件才行，这样的环境不可能有真话。想畅所欲言，必须有允许说真话的环境。
在泰戈尔的时代，在印度说真话很不容易。在GITANJALI第35首里，泰戈尔就抨击了印度的社会制度和陋习，呼吁要说真话，要唤醒国家。可把此诗作为解读本诗的依据：
Where words come out from the depth of truth;
Where the mind is led forward by thee into ever-widening thought and action---Into that heaven of freedom, my Father, let my country awake.
二、翻译探讨
Speak truth是讲真话之意。这里的the complete truth是真心、真实、真诚（complete不必译出），不是“完全的真理”，一是因为the complete truth是与outspoken相呼应的，二是泰戈尔有这样的用法，例句：It is evident that the caste-idea is not creative; it is merely institutional. It adjusts human beings according to some mechanical arrangement. It emphasises the negative side of the individual—his separateness. It hurts the complete truth in man。
