Three members of the popular group Tohoshinki (currently on hiatus) formed a new unit JUNSU/JEJUNG/YUCHUN (Junsu, Jejung, Yuchun) and the DVD of their first LIVE concert 『THANKSGIVING LIVE IN DOME』 (released on 8 September) sold 119,000 copies in its first week of sales, clinching the number one spot on the 20/9 Oricon Overall DVD Weekly Ranking. Their mini-album 『The...』 (first week's sale of 140,000 copies), which was released on the same day, also claimed the number one spot on the same week's Weekly Album Ranking, thus achieving a double crown.
The last artist to top both the overall album and DVD weekly rankings in the same week was during the 11/6 chart in 2006, 3 years and 10 months ago, with ZARD's 『Golden Best ～15th Anniversary～』 album and 『ZARD Le Portfolio 1991-2006』 DVD, in which ZARD became the 6th artist to achieve this. This is the first time in history that a foreign artist has achieved this feat.
The first foreign artist to ever sell over 100,000 copies of a music DVD was Tohoshinki on 10/12 in 2009 with 『4th LIVE TOUR 2009～The Secret Code～FINAL in TOKYO DOME』 (initial sales of 171,000 copies) and the 『TOHOSHINKI VIDEO CLIP COLLECTION-THE ONE-』 (initial sales of 109,000 copies) on 3/29 in 2010, and now they (t/n: in reference to JYJ) have become to second group to achieve this.
This piece of work is a DVD recording of the last day of their 4-day LIVE concert in June this year, which attracted over 200,000 people, at the Tokyo Dome and Kyocera Dome in Osaka. The first press edition of the DVD includes special backstage footage.
